Surely you don't mean this little chappie, he made lots of people laugh:

Yes, he could be the little chappie I was thinking about, unless it's his twin-brother or some famous actor. (a certain Charly I think)

None of the (late) members of my family laughed while he (the real one) was playing his crazy game, I'm still wondering how he managed to play it for so long.

Peter.

best of luck with the boat miss max.

You need to get yourself a couple of these guys to sort out the spider problem.82627714.jpg

By the way, what colour is the new boat.biggrin.png

Or try one of these, she catches the spider and webs in that tail and deposits them outside of the boat, or else the cat eats the spiders. Handy things cats on board until they bring a mouse in that hides and sneaks out at night to eat the cat food!

Happy times MissMax :-)

Enjoy !!!

Thank you.

I was trying to get some sleep before the move, but i have a feeling that the Jinx of this forum will some how scupper my plans of moving

so i am staying wide awake.

Got my Licence and Insurance thingy printed and ready to stick some place on the boat and also joined the RCR. Got a chap with a van booked for a 7am

pick up

What could go wrong!?

PS

Thanks to all for the spider comments. I haven't slept since reading your posts so my bed has stayed dry. I will repay your kindness somehow

Even if it takes me a million years (add evil laugh, exit stage left)

Any newbies out there, find a person who knows boats, and when you find them, cling to em and never let them go......even if you have to buy a storage trunk (remember air holes) NEVER LET THEM GO

Best advice ever for a newbie - I had a sister and brother in law who are live aboards who were amazing and then I met a rather lovely young man who had amazing patience with my questions and talked me out of buying several boats. In fact I decided his knowledge was so useful I married him :) The poor sod has no escape now.

Talk about a baptism of fire;

Must depart the marina within 48 hours, and in that time you need to :

Unpack the lorry, pack the boat.

Learn how to empty the toilet

Clean and flush the water tank

Check and service engine

Learn how to start engine

Learn how to drive a boat
Keep the cats locked up

Find out how fridge and cooker work

Check out / replace gas cylinders

Work out how to get hot water

Make sure batteries hold some charge

Go shopping for provisions for the next few days / week

Learn how to tie a mooring line

Remember to lift fenders when travelling

Remove spiders from boat

Learn how to moor (pins, Armco)

Do an inventory of all boat accessories (ropes, mooring pins, nappy-pins, windlass x 2, BW Key x 2, Anti-Vandal Key x 2.)

Buy a couple of bags of coal & some 'sticks'.

Right, you can have this afternoon off, do the above on Friday & we will start to do Saturdays list.

Big breasts - take it one stage at a time.

The journey of a 1000 miles starts with a single step.

Remove spiders with vacuum cleaner or feed them to the cats first, then potter around enjoying playing with your new home :) It is wonderful when you sit down with a brew and think 'this is all mine'.
