Eberspacher d5w playing up!!!

Hi all, anyone help!! I've recently fitted a new glow plug to my ebby after it was blowing white smoke and I discovered that the glow plug had split on the coil, now on start it up all I can hear are the relays clicking, I've been given a replacement unit so I have swapped over the relays, still no joy, still clicking, has anyone had this before????????

This unit has been driving me mad, I replaced the pump about 2 months ago as that stopped working

I should mention its not hydronic, I did hope to find experienced n boat owners on here, so far all the info I have gained is to use a curtain pole end as a rudder bolt embellishment,!!!! N

I think you've found em. They're too sensible to fit a d5w so probably won't know.

All very funny, why set up this sort of site if all you get is a bunch of Billy no mates that haven't really any idea about much at all, and probably only took their boat 100yards to turn it around!

We all meet the I know it all on the cut, that don't talk to the cc'svas they are riff raff, well they know he'll of a lot more than you lot, at least we are cruising and not sitting in a sterile marina, honestly, I thought we had the same thing in common,

Rule 1 of getting the best out of this forum is to go with the flow, take a bit of banter, and its likely that buried in there somewhere is the nugget of information you seek. If you don't like that, this is the wrong site for you. If you have a tantrum, things will only get worse for you (same as in the real world) and people who do know the answer, will keep it to themselves. Unfortunately, apart from giving you behavioural therapy, since I have never had an Eber I can't help you with your question.

If you google Eberspacher d5w a whole load of information is there, even Ebers own videos of describing them.

If its the simple non ecu controlled type it could be just a fuse. I fixed one of these a while ago in an ex Black prince boat, there was a fancy aluminium box next to the boiler unit and lo and behold in it were just two fuses both of which were all crudded up and making no contact, I fitted a pair of waterproof fuse holders with new fuses instead and it then fired up first time after the usual purging delay .
