Not with a Moon cup it doesn't.

quite right! but i dont think the 'men only' was meant to be taken seriously given that its unenforceable on a talkboard

anyway,

given the restrictions on what one can put down boat toilets i've been thinking about getting a moon cup, have any of the other 'ladies who boat' used one? any problems or thoughts?

A lot of my female friends use them, they must be good as they talk about them constantly!

Well, frankly, I haven't been inside a hairdresser's since about 1998. I rarely wear make-up, my nails are invariably short and I have no idea when I last wore a skirt. I hate reading about fashion and would rather service a pump out loo than have a manicure. :P

So according to this thread I am not a proper female. I think I was last time I looked.

There are blokes out there more worried about their appearance than I am.

Bugger this thread. :banghead::unsure:

Now I really am rolling on the floor laughing.

Yes, this thread was really tongue in cheek - I just wanted to know how many of our best male friends would bite! The statistics for visitors to this this thread are amazing.

Of course there is no way I would have wanted to upset anyone.....

But maybe with a bit of light-hearted girlie talk (I´m no girlie either, with 3 brothers how could I be anything but a tomboy!) we can all learn something..... already I have

Anyway, here´s a lesson girls on cutting our own hair, we just need someone (note: no sexist here lol) that can adapt something in his their tool box to make the gadget.

BTW I think it awful that some women get upset when a gentleman opens the door for her - I often open the door for men and usually get a big smile.

I have to admit, I didn't look at this thread until it had built up quite a few comments - I thought that it might be some kind of "women only" porn, and would be deleted fairly soon.

Cath

er...So if I thought it would be deleted, WHY didn't I look at it? :banghead:

PS - hairdriers, straighteners, dresses, make up, girly things - that for when I'm w*rking. When I'm boating I leave it to the sun and the fresh air, and a hot shower at the end of the day.

(Cue comment from 'Mr Grumpy' - about how I perhaps need to think a bit more about these things.... :P)

My girlfriend has been a moon cup advocate since long before we started living afloat, obviously they are more economoical (in the long term) and environmentally friendly than most available alternatives, but she also finds it more comfortable than anything else she has tried.

As for my vitriol on the subject of "Womens Only" talkboards, while I understand that this may have been a fairly "casual" comment not aimed to be taken too seriously, I'm afraid that I feel the same way about casual sexism as I feel about casual racism, i.e it has no place in our society today and such jokes or irony or whatever-you-want-to-call-it simply serve to mask feelings that are otherwise considered unacceptable in todays society.

Thanks for your honest thoughts.

There is no getting away with it, boys and girls are different and thank goodness for that. I can talk to a woman about something and she may well understand what I say, if I talk to a male about the same subject, he may understand, but he will have a different slant on the subject - this makes life interesting. Example: I can sympathise with someone who suffers from serious heart burn, but I have no idea how this can be acutely painful for them. Maybe they need to join a forum that is aimed for people with pyrosis - and I´d truly think this would be a good thing.

As mentioned in my first post, this thread may well die, or it may well become helpful for some.

The flip side of my adding this thread is to be light-hearted and it is no more intended to be as sexist as the Friday Joke thread - if these jokes offend, then simply don´t read the thread.

If I have caused offence to anyone, then I am truly sorry!

I have to say though, I take real exception to anyone thinking me sexist or even racist.

I'm sorry but whole concept (joke or otherwise) of a "Women Only" topic is the definition of sexism, as for racism I simply drew a comparison between racism and sexism, I don't think I have seen anything on this forum which I would think of as racist.

'Moon Cups ? 'Well, you really do learn something new everyday ! By the way , are women still required whilst using The Moon Cup to do so in the company of their female friends ? Why, oh Why do women always go for a pee 'together' ?

Well I suppose if I was really serious about a ´Woman Only´topic, then that can be a definition of sexism. I thought no more of it as I would a female buying Womans Own or a male buying a Men Only mag.

Sexism was certainly not on my radar. :(

With that in mind, if three females using their "shewees" cross the streams, does it mean all life as they know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in their bodies exploding at the speed of light, or do they just get wet feet?

It's a "Shewee" ! A specially-shaped folding paper/card item, or plastic, to allow ladies to stand up whilst weeing overboard or in a hedge...
