NOT FOR MEN KEEP PLEASE OUT!

Hope you don't mind me answering this one - I can't speak from personal experience obviously, but when I was a district nurse I used to issue these some times to patients (female obviously) and they used to swear by them. They helped some patients getting 'caught short' if they had urge incontinence and saved huge embarrassment when out in the car and the like and a public loo was not available.

Hope that's not too much info....

Hold up have you seen this the male equivalent(and be warned it is a bit for blokes, cost £90 and is sold on a divers web site (?)) http://www.customdivers.com/hewee-go-urination-system-for-men-221-p.asp

As for the Moon Cup..... I agree with previous posts - too much information!

Well as long as there are still women who feel like that we can hardly expect too many blokes to be cool about it can we.

I've never tried one (always worried I'd drop it on the floor (no, out of my hand.) at a crucial moment) but how can you have too much information about different options?

Chertsey you are absolutely right

Am I right in assuming pelvic floor muscle exercises would prevent dropping it on the floor even during a coughing fit. Ive noticed a tendency for women to cross their legs when coughing whats all that about then?

You´ve obviously not seen http://www.pelvicfloorexercise.com.au/formen.htm

Why should men do pelvic floor exercises ?

A strong pelvic floor muscle is important for men too. Women have been encouraged to exercise their pelvic floor muscle for decades, but now we understand that it is just as vital for men, and especially for men with specific health issues. Research has found that a strong pelvic floor overcomes erectile dysfunction (Uni of Bristol study, 2004)

a regular program of pelvic floor exercise achieves the same success rate as Viagra (Uni of Bristol study, 2004)

pelvic floor exercises are a safer and cheaper option than drugs; Viagra is associated with damage to the eyes and vision in a significant number of men using it, but exercises are safe for everyone (May 2005). Medications are much more costly than an exercise program.

pelvic floor exercise can "increase awareness of sexual sensations and enhance enjoyment" (Impotence Association, UK)

pelvic floor exercises can bring a dramatic improvement for men who experience dribbling after urinating (Uni of Bristol study, 2005)

For a woman to have a baby or even babies is an awesome feat, but it comes with detriment to a woman´s pelvic floor - what´s your excuse?

Men and women, joking together, about men and women, is not sexism, it is friendly interaction.

While I see the logic in your opinion I disagree

It is much the same as the light hearted 'pump out vs cassette' joshing.

People choose either cassette or pump out toilets. The same is generally not true of ones gender.

People turning it into something negative, or taking it far too seriously, is the real problem.

Problem how?

Problem how?

Seeing prejudice where there is none can actually breed prejudice.

Your criticism of a bit of harmless banter has made it a little bit less fun.

What, specifically, in this thread, could possibly cause offence?

Personally I believe that the OP was inviting men to comment, in good humour, and I believe that opinion is confirmed by her light hearted reaction to our 'intrusion'.

If this level of 'sexism' offends you then why even bother to click on the thread?

I've had a fair bit to say in the past (along with my sadly departed mate ymu) about casual sexism on this forum and (far worse) elsewhere on the internet, but apart from the 'yuk' reaction to matters menstrual (serves them right for looking) I don't see it in this thread.

I find the whole concept of mens things (say, engine maintenance) and womens things (say, haircare, as of course things like moon cups are genuinely a subject you would expect women to have more knowledge of) that this thread promotes inherently sexist.

If a woman finds something offensive in this thread, then let her say so herself.

Sure, but if I find something offensive should I not be able to say so?

it's you lot who stand and watch each other (how do you bear it?)

We stare intently at the tiled wall directly in front of our faces, do our best to ignore each other and resume communication when safely out of the gents. For this reason I believe that head-height advertising above urinals is a truly ingenious idea.

If this level of 'sexism' offends you then why even bother to click on the thread?

Why? To argue my point, of course.

Not actually completely true - you can choose and if you wish change your gender at any time you wish...

OK it's a bit more complicated (and expensive) than ripping out your PO tank and putting in a cassette but it can be done.

That depends on whether the tank is an integral part of the hull and which boatyard you use, of course.

Ah - I forgot that some boats have integral parts...

Nothing to add to that- it says it all and I agree.

There is plenty on the internet that lives up to my standards, although I have found casual sexism to be far more common (and less often criticised) than, say, casual racism, or even casual homophobia for that matter.

This does not stop me voicing my opinion. What you call "uptight" is my attempt to help (in a very small way, of course) change something that I percieve to be a very real problem with potentially far reaching repurcussions.

In that case why have male and female loos separate? Surely that is the height of sexism.

I hate political correctness as well

Sue

I have to say though, I take real exception to anyone thinking me sexist or even racist.

Why?

Except for those who are perfect, we are all a bit sexist or a bit racist, however hard we may try not to be.

Come, now. You don't really think that you can change in every way, do you?

If so, defer the operation, and do a bit more reading.

Having read the peeing guide it does not explain how to pee in a bottle like men have to do sometimes.

There are shewees available with integral bottle (note the absence of capitals Keith!)

The teams standing around me would surely put me off; that's why you get walls in between! You'd be shy too...

edit a friend of mine has just posted girl gang on facebook; they'll be boating next <tsk>

Of course it's possible - our operation has already been done, Aqua Narrowboats did it back in November last year...it's a bit painful but fully recovered now.

Actualy, on that point I would disagree.

Laughing at the ridiculous PC posturing has made this thread far more fun.

This thread is exactly why they are seperate, because we carnt talk about girly stuff without a man sticking his nose in :) we have to go into the loos to do it. :)

I think Dave Mayall knows why they are seperate, it's Doug Scullery who doesn't seem to understand that Equal does not mean Identical

And with that I'm back to the men only thread B)

The night sweats (sheesh) :help: the overwhelming tirdness :tired: frayed temper  the complete inability to reason with the person you reside with on a 37 footer when even their breathing is just WRONG!! I would like to think that the answer would be lots of  and  ..... not finding the deepest part of the cut and throwing menopausee overboard ??
