Spam messages send via PM system

If the sender is not detailed as 'deleted member' please feel free to report it in this thread and they shall be removed post haste.

- Although we cannot removed the PMs, and it appears that having managed to register they then send all the messages they are going to send within a period of time signicatly that short that the chance of stoping them after they haev send one but before they have sent them to basicaly everyone is slim.

For what its worth, this is this information we have from IBP

 

 

 

 

Hopfully Jon will be able to apply the patch as soon as possable, and version 3 will not be too far away.

Further to that, as of the last 5minutes, I believe I have now added the patch from IBP.

- Which by default is set to require 5minutes to elapse between one PM being sent to the next being send, which should hopefully greatly stem the problem if not totally solve it.

 

Clearly omitting flood control on PMs in the first place was an oversight by IBP, which was a loophole made use of by this spammers, which have now been corrected with this patch.

 

If anyone else receives and further spam via PM please bring this to our attention as soon as passable, which can be done by posting it in this thread and then 'reporting' you thread to the moderators.

I think you may be being a little unfair to one of our most upstanding members.

If you get a message called "look at" from "deleted member" - don't bother, its an advert for Viagra and the like.

 

Just delete it.

I just got this & being a new member I very nearly fell for it.

 

Another board I use ask prospective new members a cryptic question that only people truly interested in the type of board would get the answer to, this helps stop spammers.
