From Rick Coopers Facebook page, updated by his son Stuart.

"Rick's funeral will be held at 10am on Tuesday 21st February at Sutton Crematorium.
We will update with more details next week.

In happier news, Cassie is settled on her new boat and is enjoying the freedom of the waterways that she is used to.
Stuart and family."

Today was Rick Coopers funeral.

His boat was moored outside the Samuel Barlow and their flag was at half mast (as it has been since the day he died).

They took his coffin on Auriga to the winding hole and back this morning before it went to the crematorium. At least that was the plan

Sad occasion. What a nice bloke. Bought from him a small number of times.

He was a nice bloke. I’ve passed him a number of times and he was always cheery. On the few occasions I spoke with him he always had time to natter away.
I don’t suppose he would have remembered me but I’ll remember him.
Yes, very sad.

Yes he was a nice bloke. Always happy to chat or give advice.

He supplied 90% of the diesel that my boat has consumed since I bought it, because I like to support canal based businesses and especially fuel boats.
