Is that a Brexit benefit? That the sign can be altered to show distances in miles?

Sadly for conspiracy speculators, it pre-dates Brexit - see here from 2016

and a less clear one from 2008 when it seems that central Brum had yet to de-metricate whilst the rest had returned to the main stream!

...why CRT didn't name one of the many heavy metal bridges like this one as the Black Sabbath Bridge rather than a brick one.

And I don’t think CRT had much to do with it other than accept it and of course appear for the opening and grab some limelight,

here’s good link to the bench: https://blacksabbathbench.co.uk

This afternoon 2024

... and only having seen it from the canal, I walked around for a current view from Broad Street:

@PeterScott seems to have a faster way to get around the Canals and county than most.

Maybe the Thread should be retitled “On this day in my time Machine” or “zipping around the Country in my McLaren Formula One car”😂 Any professional Photographer’s on here that can give him some tips on how to take a photo? 📸📸

The etchings have gone, I wonder if it’s been vandalised and they’ve had to remove them?

Nice Indian restaurant right behind where Peter is standing

None of us have to look if we don’t want to,

but if it encourages people to get out and boat it’s all good stuff,

here’s a photo from a year ago, under Spaghetti Junction.

Barajee. Thanks for the recommendation: we hadn't tried them before and it was an excellent curry, neatly served, and well worth a return visit. We were early in the evening, and they set a canal-view table for us:
