This morning we passed Boris and Carrie, they are still waiting for their 'offsprings' to hatch, I've noticed she's been sitting on the nest for at least 3 weeks.

How she's putting up with the noise of the contractors is beyond my imagination, they must have a lot of patience and trust.

Think this new marina is for Rothen Group (?). Looks like the digger is poised waiting for the cut-through.... as soon as the little ones hatch.

I watched this from very close up several years ago at Springwood. Eventually the eggs hatched but the cygnets all huddled together on the edge of the nest, not daring to get wet. Eventually mum got fed up with them and pushed them all into the water!

Swing Bridge by Esholt Waste Water Treatment Works. A delight of the canal is the need to recruit a passing herd of elephants to assist in opening this bridge, and having passed through to fiddle with the handcuff key. As You Do.

The hatted-one boating unhatted?

L2786_20180719_0009.JPG.2e9cb7cae1c12095630429d8ff9429cb.JPGUnatted hatted-one (dully) because Howard and Sally, out of generous interest in my Illustrious-Namesake-talk that evening, (and also increasing the audience by a significant percentage), were somewhat behindhand on the planned arrival at our car, so we walked back to Field to meet them.

Just sitting here with a cupo'tea and it occurred to me that this poor chap could have done with an 'at, too

Did you deliver Angel to Hillmorton on that trip, or was that later?

L1877_20120622_0039.JPG.f1714dbbf71a88efd67ba2f788c5822f.JPGAngel had overwintered 2008-09 at the end of the Rickmansworth branch, from where we poled/bowhauled to meet Fulbourne, and we travelled together to Cavalcade at Little Venice, and then to Braunston, where Angel was moored on the offside near Ladder Bridge. The picture is there in 2012. We had a few excellent trips with Sheena and Angel including Burton-on-Trent to Braunston after the (last) IWA National in July 2011. Someone will be along in a mo to remind us which year Sheena sold Angel and thence the move to Hillmorton.
