  1. I'm pretty sure F1 is more recent than F5 The following from an 801 modulator manual With the heater switched on, press and hold key until the display shows ‘dA’. The blue LED will briefly illuminate. Release the key. After a short time the LED flickers momentarily during diagnostic data transfer then goes off. The display shows FO followed by its fault code then automatically scrolls through any previously stored fault codes, up to a maximum of 5. Hope this helps Roger
  2. A similar company if not this one approached us when we were building, the whole concept fell over when it was realised the "skirting board" would literally have to wrap around all the fixed furniture to give a decent output at a very uneconomic install cost.
  3. 4 wires are needed to operate the 701 timer, from the 4 way plug in the control box. Red is the 12 v feed from the heater Brown is ground/ negative Yellow is the switch wire from the heater Blue is for diagnostics If you want to simply fire up the heater insert a switch between red and yellow. Roger
  4. Hi , sorry to hear you are so disappointed with what essentially is a great piece of kit. Support is great from the manufacturers. I have had a similar problem with a standard Smartgauge, it was all down to my installation. I had installed the gauge into too tight an aperature and the unit performed exactly as you are describing. Easing the housing resolved all problems. Roger
  5. Hi, the charger needs to be mounted in a dry and well ventilated space ideally within 2 metres of the batteries. Once correctly installed and set up it can be left connected to keep the batteries in good condition. Cheers Roger edited for fumble fingers
  6. Hi George One of these http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/traps/general/domestic-appliance-accessories/1-189-straight-nozzle.html?id=30&cat=30 should work for you, you can always purchase a straight coupling to fit on to a length of standard pipe, or should fitin to a trap. We used to purchase them from Crosslings in Salford Cheers Roger
  7. My guess is the soaking has goosed the alternator, I presume it was running at the time.
  8. It shouldn't be a problem, it's all down to the strength of the wall you are hanging it on. Well fixed ply 9mm minimum or T& G again well fixed will be fine. When hanging on brackets make sure the back of the basin is liberally coated in silcone sealant as a secondary means of fixing. Roger

  10. Is there an extra zero in there? Engine age and make etc may be helpful in determining hose sizes. Cheers Roger
  11. It should be a requirement of your licence that you give proof of insurance, there is no other means of ensuring licensed boats are insured.
  12. The marina was managed by John Lund who operates/operated the trip boat from Uppermill. Details from Oldham's website:- Contact Information John Lund 7 Alva Road Oldham Lancashire OL4 2NS T: 0161 652 6331
  13. Hi, we always used G&J Reeves shells, I live on one of them. Rather than me go and measure my 2008 rudder stock and it be different, give Graham a call on 07879002640 he will certainly give you the correct info. cheers Roger
  14. Hi, you may find the answer here, albeit a quite complicated one ! http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=71195&hl=%2Bvdo+%2Bhour+%2Bmeter
  15. Richard, all up and running, thank you so much for sorting it in double quick time too. I will be forwarding your findings to the manufacturers / UK agents
  16. I've had problems in the past with it, on new, clean threaded joints. Not in my toolbox now.
  17. I'll find out for you, incidentally do you know the current price at Baileys Trading?
  18. I think you will find Brian and Anne Marie on N.B. Alton sell the cheapest diesel in the area, they get through thousands of litres each week so you know its always fresh. No connection with them apart from being a satisfied customer. Roger
  19. Hi Alan Give Peter Hopley a call he makes / made the Kestrel controller and may be able to guide you. Tel & Fax: 0161 336 2680---------Mob: 07711 496177
  20. 30 amp ??? are you sure. Sounds like a caravan relay. More details please, make model and alternator size.
  21. If the area is varnished it will need stripping back and then use a wood bleach kit. http://cpc.farnell.com/rustin-s/wbleset/wood-bleach-set/dp/SA02887?CMP=CPC-PLA Results can be very good. Roger
  22. Very true. The O.P. may also like to consider that running high loads at idle speed for long periods i.e. washing machines etc , can easily cause the alternator to burn out. Beta marine engines can happily be run stationary at 1200 to 1400 rpm . This helps prevent the bores of the engine from glazing whilst also getting plenty of cooling air around the alternators from their built in fans.
