    Bargain?

    Good price but soulless.
  2. Yep. And the big advantage of Zinser (and why I suggested it) is that you don’t have to thoroughly sand the varnish first. Just ensure it’s clean.
  3. Zinser Cover Stain. Just wash the surface with sugar soap first. https://www.screwfix.com/p/zinsser-cover-stain-primer-white-2-5ltr/17117 Whatever you like. It’ll stick well to Zinser whatever you use.
  4. Have you considered painting some matchboarding? You can still make it into panels by attaching it to some 6mm ply sheets.
  5. To answer the topic title - the Leisure bank for all the reasons that you list and which have been confirmed above.
  6. You can safely ignore that icon for evermore.
  7. It happened to Biggles, but for a different reason. I’m pretty sure I’ve read on hereof folk having to spread loads of Bicarbonate all over the engine bay.

  9. And they’ll probably require regular topping up.
  10. I need to investigate this modern magic of which you speak... Not quite that circuit no, because I hadn’t appreciated that the bistable relay has two separate coils. But something similar or, as Nick suggests, a PIC.
  11. Very fine (4x0) wire wool and a lot of patience.
  12. No, what you wrote was correct the first time
  13. I wonder if that noisy little red thing might fall into the cut...
  14. You sure? I thought that limit was removed yonks ago?
  15. You mean on some boats the bilge pump actually works???
  16. Oh, I didn’t realise. Yes, as you say that makes it simpler still. Sledgehammer, nut One CMOS chip, one resistor, one capacitor... hardly complex.
  17. They have the absolute worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Not just phone companies - ANY company. I argued with them over a bill for over six months. Eventually they threatened court action (over £30!!) and I threatened the ombudsman. Finally they sent me a credit for the supposedly ‘outstanding’ amount.
  18. So about 3A for <100ms? Nicked from allaboutcircuits.com is this: Experiment with the value of C1 (30uF would probably be about right) and the relay shown does the switching to the bistable. I think that’d work ok, waddya reckon?
  19. As with a house, if you run all the cables in the walls and then make good it could be pricey. It depends on how easy the access turns out to be. If however you did it council house style with surface mount trunking (some of which can be quite attractive In fairness) then it could be much cheaper. Not at all sure about the ‘12V socket for fridge’ As Tony suggests, check what size cable is feeding it.
  20. What duration does the pulse need to be? It would be a very simple circuit to generate a pulse from a voltage flop.
  21. I believe that Patio Gas is a mixture of propane and butane but of course I could be wrong. My guess would be that replacing the push fit regulator with a propane regulator would be just as cheap as an adaptor (if one even exists).
