Tonights on the scene report says the valves are closed at Chasewater, looks like springy is not going anywhere for a while.

I tend to refer to it as North and South, it bends so much it could be referred to by every point of the compass lol.

The Chasewater side is dropping slightly again, Staffs are conserving water for their Iron man contest this weekend so theres no water going into it, yesterday morning it was 5mm down on where it had recovered to so still about 4 inches down at least.

I was referring to the Wolverhampton side.

Went & had a quick look earlier - plenty of activity in the plant yard, & they now have a 6" pump installed moving water from south to north, or is that east to west, or ???  - anyway its coming our way - got to be good.

I see that the stoppage notice has been update to say the Severn Trent have accepted responsibility for the culvert, and will be making the repairs.

So does that mean all that crap will be left in the bottom of the cut?

Do you really need to ask?

Answering my own question. This is Smethwick top lock about 1 minute ago. Maybe 1” down.

Looks like it's come up a couple of inches since we came through Tuesday pm.

When we came past the end of the Bradley Arm. On Saturday I was expecting to see some flow coming out but the rubbish on the surface was just floating there.

OK.

But, like some people in Derbyshire, one can live in hope.

Now, you've boated that section many times. And it's always had crap in the bottom. It is only now you can see it, you want it taken out

Had a quick look at the site this evening - some pics follow, work obviously progressing - I guess the pile alongside the collapse is to be made into the platform for any equipment to excavate the culvert, we also now have a 4" pump alongside the 6", but they are now feeding in the wolverhampton direction, fortunately there's plenty coming from chasewater.
