Excel issues

Is anyone else struggling with Excel coal it was all I could get this week but the burn is slow,poor heat and loads of ash  .Switched back to Newheat. Coal soo much hotter at same damper position and lower ash ??

I too am rather disappointed that this in not a spreadsheet issue, been brushing up my skills updating my BCN Challenge spreadsheet.

Excel is the best on our stove ... very low ash and burns well, slowly.

 

New Heat is a good substitute.

 

Trial and error on your particular stove is the best judge 👍🏻

There has been a particularly bad batch of Excel produced recently,  which has caused many problems.

Jules Fuels and Ryan have refused to order any until a new batch is produced.

If you have old stock, treasure it, mine was bought last June and is excellent.

And fuel boats Alton and Halsall didn't have any in stock as the manufacturer was having issues / stopped producing Excel for a while. I had to use Red which does not light and burn very well for me.
