Canal Marina and Mooring map - Stage 1 complete

David Floyd

Featured Posts

Ever claiming something is complete is always a request for people to find errors, and I expect I have made a few if not many many, but I feel like I have completed stage 1 of my Canal/River Mooring map, I still have a lot more to find and add, but I have done my best to clean the current data.

Thanks for all the help

Looking much more comprehensive now 🙂

At Anderton you've got Uplands Marina, but not Anderton Marina just opposite...

Unless the intention is for stage 2 to extend the search area there seem to be a lot of locations imissing as you go further North. For example,  Hull Marina, Goole Marina's (2) South Ferriby Marina, a few on the Trent etc. Many more in the North which are too numerous to mention.

Couldn’t seam to open it up, but I did see this on the page.

Note: If you are looking for a guide to good places to moor on your travels we liked the Indigo Dreams rough guide to mooring

Then when you open that link you see it was last up dated 2012. Somehow I don’t think I’d be relaying of that info today😂

I'm not seeing the moorings on the Weaver marked with a symbol, or Northwich Quay Marina.

I don't have a list myself- I'm using open canal map to find spots on the weaver, although it doesnt seem to give an 'official' name for each mooring

Do Anglo Welsh offer mooring to other boats?

Cannot see this on there web site?

D

Have you got a rough location for Milford moorings?

D

Yes there are a number of moorings at Anglo Welsh in Great Haywood.

The Milford moorings are between bridge 104 and 105, https://canalplan.uk/place/6nmv

More that are missing,

Sileby Mill Boatyard - this is a separate concern to Sileby Marine

Kegworth Marine

Private moorings by the Otter pub at Kegworth

Private moorings on the river loop by Kegworth shallow lock.

There are towpath moorings at Shardlow above the lock - the extend for about 1/2mile and are private. Can't remember what they are called.

CRT moorings above Weston on Trent (the one near Shardlow)

Derby Canal moorings at Swarkestone Junction

CRT moorings at Willington - both sides of the bridge

CRT moorings at Eggington bridge by the A38

Private moorings to the east of the Dove aqueduct

Horninglow basin at Burton

Private moorings offside above Alrewas lock

CRT moorings in three places at Fradley

Moorings at Fradley owned by the caravan park

CRT moorings offside below Beeston lock

Hope that this fills a few gaps
