Who are the Fossdyke flushers?

"The Elsan at Lincoln is once again blocked, which means we have had to deadlock the site."

That makes it the sixth time this month that the Elsan has been blocked. What could be happening here? CRT says it is due to unsuitable items being flushed - forbidden material such as dead dogs, foundry scrap, hay bales and carpet underlay. Everyone knows the problems those can cause.

Yet it seems peculiar that very soon after being cleared, the Elsan is blocked again. Is the waste outlet somehow prone to blockage? Van lifers with keys or other vandals?

Sounds like sabotage to me. Normal boaters don't have dead dogs, hay bales or foundry scrap aboard needing disposing of. And even if they did, putting them in the Elsan at Lincoln would not be the obvious method.

Therefore, someone is probably going out of their way to deliberately block it.

Just got home to Lincoln after our spring/summer travels. Might take a walk to investigate.

Will you be going in the full Deerstalker & Meerschaum pipe regalia, or just taking a big magnifying glass? :D

Bit too warm for a deerstalker so will have to be just the big magnifying glass - taking great care not to set fire to any boats of course! Just off to oil my  moustache 😄

Could possibly be. As they say the waste pipe is only 4 inches. But the people have a 5 inch arse hole. 😱😱

Blocked again:

Update on 21/06/2023:

The Elsan at Lincoln has been blocked again.

Contractors are attending site on an urgent job to unblock, clean and establish the cause.

We will update the website on the 23rd June with more information.

Unfortunately, we have had to deadlock the site until this matter is resolved.
