Where in the country are you as someone may know a local fender maker?

Callum4878
Saw them yesterday at the Shady Oak, didn’t think to ask, but I don’t want a black one, and the Manila’s seem to be a bit harder to come by. I’ll text them. Thanks Keith

sueb
We always bought second hand from fender makers. One was the wrong colour for the buyer!

PD1964
Get a polypropylene synthetic one, lasts a lot longer then traditional hemp rope. Edited August 8, 2022 by PD1964

They are Husband and wife, Andy and Katrina, who live on a boat at Trent Lock on the river Trent in Long Eaton. Apart from the absence of a surname, they provide the same amount of contact detail and information as this website does:- https://www.miketheboilerman.com/ Edited August 9, 2022 by David Schweizer

The traditional "hemp" fenders are generally synthetic these days even if they are made to look like hemp.
Callum4878
Does that mean they float? That’s a blessing at least.

The 'cheap' rope commonly used is Polypropylene and this floats. Quality rope is usually Nylon and it sinks (Nylon should be used for anchor warps, towing and mooring lines) Size-for-size Polypropylene ropes are stronger than natural fibres but are not as strong as Nylon or Polyester ropes.
