Quote You’ll know that boaters are being asked to stop all non-essential movement during the current crisis, unless you live aboard and need to fill up with water and fuel, and to empty their toilets. The Canal & River Trust will continue to maintain our essential towpath boater facilities during the coronavirus lockdown. However, for many liveaboard boaters, off-line private facilities may be the only places within reach at the present time. While we are working with private marinas, boat clubs and other providers to ensure that wherever possible their essential boater facilities remain open – particularly where there are no Canal & River Trust facilities nearby – we’ve received reports that some are being closed. To help us prioritise which privately provided facilities we should be trying to keep open please can you let us know, by return email, if there are any you are dependent on during the current lockdown – their name, location, and who operates them. There is no need to reply to this message if you are able to access Canal & River Trust facilities. Stay near the services, but not so close that you are blocking them for other users.

On the CRT web site there is this: Please note that from Monday 30 March, unless there is an emergency or boaters require passage for essential services such as water, pump out or waste, all our employee-operated locks, bridges and tunnels will be closed.
