Haribo sweeties as we went under the bridge heading for Sherborne Wharf. No,we didn't eat them as we had no idea where they'd been... Stones chucked in Tipton & as they were doing it,a police car drew up on the bridge. The lads could have been contenders for the Olympic sprint races.

We crossed the Wash in 2022 & Daryl was brilliant-knew what he was doing/ talking about & great company. We had sunny, calm weather which was a bonus-fab experience.

CRT looking for volunteers
Mrs Bearwood Boster replied to Heartland's topic in Waterways News & Press
Husband used to volly in Brum til' we moved to Shropshire. He used to help litter picking, glass collecting from the pubs etc-was always an extra body as didn't want to do/take an individual's paid job. Some of the roles now seem very much to be instead of paying a C&RT worker. -
Where is this? 500 piece jigsaw puzzle.
Mrs Bearwood Boster replied to nealeST's topic in History & Heritage
I've done that puzzle ! I then donated it to a charity shop near Brum. -
Hi Nick,we're going with third time lucky getting onto the Lancaster this summer.1st time-big hole in the canal opened up.2nd time-we got as far as Tarleton before CRT cancelled the crossings due to gale force winds. The next crossings weren't for another fortnight due to the tides ! We may see you en route/there.Fingers crossed.

Best state of tide to leave Gloucester?
Mrs Bearwood Boster replied to Theo's topic in General Boating
Just realised I could see you ! We're moored on the wall to your left & will be heading along the G&S (again) tomorrow including a Sainsburys stop. Have a good trip. Our trip along the partings was interesting...lots of trees to negotiate & it was a verrrrrry quick turn onto the partings themselves.Stay safe. -

We did the partings today(from Tewkesbury) & have never seen so many trees...& I mean trees ! -
We waved at you today,we're moored at (nearly put on,but it sounded cruel) the Swan's Neck.

Went up the Ashby for the first time in years last month-seemed to be far more long termers without moorings than there were 8 years ago.Lots of the nice mooring spots were full with the same boats both ways.Had a night in Trinity marina to use their laundry & they are having problems at the moment.Their cctv shows boats moored outside using kayaks/row boats to come into the marina in the early hours of the morning. They move around the marina stopping every so often but haven't been seen doing anything apart from taking a boat hook.

Denver to Boston via Kings Lyn and the Wash
Mrs Bearwood Boster replied to KenK's topic in Cruise Diaries & Reports
We did the same trip last year & it was a bit more bouncy after the beaching.Totally agree that Daryl is worth every penny...but he does enjoy being fed on a regular basis !😆 -
If it's 2005-I make that 18 years later. Ours is 2004 & we've had her from new.She has her little oddities but is a cracking boat for the money.

Braunston Historic Boat Gathering - June 2023
Mrs Bearwood Boster replied to alan_fincher's topic in General Boating
Yes,we did read about the plans for Trevor etc.We actually watched you getting into position there which looked quite tight ! -
When we bought our last house in 2020,we had to do a series of maximum daily amounts to our solicitor til' we had the right amount. It seemed totally bonkers that we had oodles in our account from our house sale, but had to do it this way-felt like we were money launderers.

We've seen Beattie towing Saturn. We were on the Golly in April/May & saw them then at Trevor. We live in Ellesmere & have seen them moored together by the C&RT yard. -
Including their dog !

Totally different owners now who must be devastated. The original owners are no longer with us .Comments such as your comment are just plain rude & thoughtless.

Mrs Bearwood Boster replied to Graham and Jo's topic in Cruise Diaries & Reports
We last saw you at Alrewas ! We now live in Ellesmere but our boat lives at Overwater. We thought it was about time we 'did' our home canal.Heading slowly back to Audlem before we're off again mid June.
