SO though unlikely to happen it would be possible to have a canal boat that could be lifted off the canal and onto a flatbed, similar to a container for onward shipment. It does seem like a very good attempt to compete with other forms of traffic and yet it did not work.
Did they have nobody on the them besides the tug in case things went wrong.I am thinking of the joeys on the bcn when towed in line had a steerer on the last on.Probably a silly question.
That bit on fundraising on your site is interesting.Having seen how much money the people raising the funds get there is likely to be precious little left to give to BW.
Could it be raised ? The other attempts failed according to my reading of the forum, and will it have to be lifted moved and licensed asap or can any of that wait a week or so.
You said on one occasion that it was a rare boat with a triple keel which presumably makes it stronger and worth saving for it's rarity value.

Anyone that tries to improve the lot of others is always to be commended. No matter the ideal when you are faced with the reality of the situation it is better to settle for the best you can get than go off in a huff and get nothing at all.the Lichfield Hatherton canal is having to deal as best they can with all sorts of difficulties and i am sure they will archive the best fit between the dream and reality of the situation [unfortunately i have not as yet volunteered for this restoration just read the web site].This is the best they can do today, tomorrow a rich person may donate the money to get closer to the dream
well done to the people involved in this restoration.
