  7. Easy, Hampton Ferry in Evesham. Somewhere, I do have a screen grab from Farson Digital Webcams of me moving a boat from Gloucester to Stowe Hill.....I hadnt even realised I was that close to Evesham, and went through at full pelt!...it was early in the year though.

  13. Beta 43s have varied a bit throughout the years but our 2011 model is filled from the rectangular "box" above the exhaust manifold. It is important to note that if yours is the same, you do not fill it right up otherwise it will just overflow the next time you run the engine and the coolant heats up and expands. The correct level is about 1" below the neck when cold. If you put more in than that, it will just disappear into the overflow. I just wanted to check that it was actually leaking and not just a case of over-filling!

  14. Paul from Lockgate Stoves had a look at the stove today. Excellent service explaining what he was doing and why. There was a small leak around the regulator then running under the stove. Paul removed the regulator, set it back up on his jig in the van, and changed olives and nuts on the connections. He removed the stove and cleaned up the diesel underneath. Low flame is massively lower than before, explaining the high consumption before. The Facebook Reflex group is helpful, but there are nuances with these stoves. I had a look at the instructions for adjusting the High and low flame screws, but they are for a Toby regulator and unlike many Reflex stoves, my 2062MK has a different regulator, and you have to turn the screws the other way. I was advised to call Lockgate, and it was the right advice. The stove is running well, and I feel like I had a crash course in running and maintaining it going forward.

  17. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Compared to most but not so new that I havenโ€™t realised that every post seems to be answered by 1% solid information and 99% arguing about something only vaguely related. Still not sure if nobody knows anything or they just like to argue the toss over everything. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

  21. They're not actually that difficult to install yourself. If I can do it (almost) anyone can. I just took my time, followed what instructions were available in print and online and asked questions here if I was in doubt. Assuming you're talking about a water heater, one important aspect that isn't covered in the installation instructions (because they can't cover everything), is making sure that the kW or BTU output of your central heating system roughly matches the output of the heater. So if you've got a 5kW Webasto you need enough radiators combined to match that output. You can include a bit for the pipework too. If you've got too many rads with a combined kW rating above the output of the heater the rads might not get hot enough. If you don't have enough rads (which is more common on boats), then the hot water circulating through the system won't be able to lose enough heat and will go back to the heater still hot. The heater will then start to cycle down and will end up getting choked up prematurely. These diesel heaters need to be run hard. For the same reason you should take the thermostatic valves off the radiators because you don't want them to shut down when they get hot. When you're matching the output of the central heating system with the heater ignore the calorifier, because once that's hot it's not taking any heat from the Webasto. It's worth doing this CH/heater output comparison even if you aren't installing the heater yourself. It just means you're already in a good place when the installer arrives.

  30. This. We got Sam from a breeder in Shropshire because they were happy to do show us the parents. Initially we were looking for our fourth rescue dog, but were rejected by 8 charities because our house is adjacent to a canal with an unfenced edge to the canal. Despite my offers to put up temporary fencing if necessary (which had been an acceptable solution in the past for our previous rescue dog) they refused, so eventually we bought a pup from a breeder. Here is our first photo of Sam and one of his parents.

  43. Don't know about Cats, but Ollie tolerates certain four legged furry animals of a non-canine species. Wouldn't like to leave him alone with one, though... Especially when the rabbit hops off the dog bed leaving a diet of nutritious droppings...

  46. I've only done it after refilling the coolant - when it is still cold. I found I just needed to back off the compression fitting nut 1/2 turn or so, air could be heard hissing out. There was no possibility of the pipe disconnecting.

  48. Try to see both parents or at least the mother. See the pup in its home and not in a car park somewhere. If the pup is from pedigree parents, ask for a copy of the breeding. Don't be carried away with a sweat wee face ,๐Ÿ˜€ Make sure the pup looks lively and healthy with clean eyes and bum
