Never underestimate the willingness of the folk on this forum to help out a boater in need. OK, it helps if you are witty and charming, but I'm sure just being forthcoming with a cold beer is a good second :-)

Where are you Neil? We could have a trial cold beer,if you're forthcoming,as they say?

Well it's now two days since the threat to remove one of kidneys and I still have them both.

Do you think I can begin to relax now?

Just lulling you into a false sense of security -

One dark,...... cold,..... misty,..... night there suddenly appears an apparition wielding a scalpel, before you know it ...................................................

SCALPEL! where the blue blazes do you get scalpel from? You do know that i am a boat owner/slave

Can't afford a scalpel :(

I do have half tin opener and a semi clean can of baked beans (got to store the kidneys someplace)

I have a problem (noooo not that one....or that one) My engine temp light now stays on (it may be worried that i am lonely on the deck)

The header tank that says coolant has water in it. What do i do now?

My dog is an idiot (swear she's adopted) twice in less than five hours she has fallen into the canal. It is impossible

to dry a Springer Spaniel on a boat

Painted the stove (boat now smells like a fry up !?) and i painted the walls the same colour as the vain at the side of Mr Peterboats head.

The one that stands out every time he went into the engine room and poked the cauliflower

PS

I opend the rusty cap on the engine (it's a red engine) and it sighed then the black rubber pipe startled pulsating so i ran away

is my boat about to blow up?

Do i need to put water in anything on the engine?

PS

I have half a tub of Vics Vapour Rub, would that help?

When is the 'Joys of a leisurely Narrow boating' going to kick in :(

PPPPPPPSS

How am i supposed to go about my plans for world domination if you all keep mocking my posts :(

Some times i think you lot are only pretending to be trembling in fear (my feelings are hurt :( )

Or the spiders finally got her..................? That could happen, oh yes.

I hope you wake up next to a crate of Marmite grrrrrr!

Just arrived in Skipton and it is howling. Saw you walking the pooch on the way in. On the plus side, it will suck all the nasty fumes up the chimney and it will blow you all the way to Gargrave without need of the engine.

I'm putting on my Elmer Fud costume and going hunting ;)

Max, if, when you opened the rusty thing on top of the engine, and the engine burped, then you may well have had an airlock. Top up the water in the header tank, later you may have to add antifreeze, but for the time being just water. Start the engine and check that the water has some sort of movement in it, (not that type of movement). Check the levels often, through the plastic tank. Don't take the cap off when the engine is hot. You'll get a very hot shower.

I can't understand why you don't have hot water. As Peter mentioned he bled the system but that doesn't seem to have help. If all the pipes are connected, be it in a bit of a jumble, it should, in principle still get the water hot. When I was onboard I'm sure the water was getting a little bit warmer that cold. You have mentioned in the past that the shower makes funny noises. Did you have a shower or just running it to get water through? I can't help any more that that, sadly.

Once you get to Lower Park?? marina. They seem very helpful. You can get on mains and settle down. You will be with people that are not being taken away from their proper business, hire fleet, and will be perhaps more helpful. There're friendly dogs there that your 'Off spring' will be able to socialise with, that'll be good.

Get to a marina.

A chap that looks like a young 'Clint Walker' came with his silver haired wolfhound and ended the rane of fear of the 'Disco Lights of Panic' then walked off into the mid-day sun (refusing to take my dog with him :( )

Going to need a new switch thingy for the light. Also need the Pennine boats to stick anti freeze in the engine (or there about)

Off to lay the carpet (hope no body's are in this roll of carpet again)

Puppy looks even cuter when soggy. She'll learn, don't worry.

As said... get yourself to a marina as soon as possible! No fretting about having to move on, lots of advice on your doorstep and you can learn steadily.

Btw, bin bag curtains look great in the picture :-)

You wait until the cats fall in, mine scramble out then run through the boat shaking themselves whilst midair (quite a sight) and hide under the duvet, right in the centre until dry again <sigh>

I'm filling up on fuel and wot nots on Wednesday then leaving early Thursday morning.

Not enough funds to leave this week. Apparently I am such a special Moonbeam I have been moved onto PIP. Hope to get a weekend job when I get to the marina area, even if I can't park there I can lurk up and down during winter and think of ways and different marinades to get Mr Cuthound
