Yes - it could! Could be anything.! We are learning what we can as we go along but when your first boat is a new one and nothing reallly goes wrong (which is good!) it is a while before you start learning stuff!

Yes, I now the cycle you mean, but this was, I don't know , but long enough to be constant and the stage where something had definitely gone wrong! 😆 IN that case I am definitely ahead of the game so far! 😆

Yes although I had no idea which one it was! But thank you (seriously - I felt that looked sarcastic!) ButIi have got lucky and found it first time so that is a change for me. I tried putting it back and it started immediately although now I can ascertain it is in at the back of the engine at the bottom of the engine bay away from unit and presume it must be the diesel pump but either way I am ok now until someone can get here and I can learn from them,. Thank again

Hi So at some random time during the night the Eberspacher (D7 I believe) started to hum when it was not on (so I am told, I never heard the noise but the wife says). This morning after 2 failed attempts the heating came on as normal and worked but now as the cycle has completed it is still humming quite high pitched.... I have been down and around it looking for something as simple as a switch to turn it off partly to protect it (whatever it is) and partly cods that might "reset" it? but I can't even find that! So while my level of expertise and knowledge is such that I am not going to believe I could fix it, I would at least like to be able to try and turn it off until I can get someone out to look at it as it is (of course!) a bank holiday! So any help figuring out to turn it off would be appreciated!

We only have experience of one Castle Marina but no complaints here - well, unless you count the Elsan being at the other end from our berth but that seems a little churlish!

Ahh........our water pump comes on for a couple of seconds at a time every now and then and we wondered why! This is probably it. Thanks

New liveaboard: so far, so good except cassette toilet gauge...
NealSmith100 replied to NealSmith100's topic in Living Afloat
Clearly the system is just rubbish! I just wondered., The eye test it is - it's what we've been doing anyways! Ta all. -
Ok, so we have been aboard Little Miss Sunshine for 2 weeks. We have had everything figured out as we have gone along and no diasters so far. For those who have followed my previous threads, Mrs Neal loves living on a boat but is less loving of moving it. (so far!) Anyway, one thing defeats me and which I cannot for the life of me figure out. How in the name of all living things do you get the sliding waste gauge on a Thetford cassette toilet to work?!?! There is a magnet in the cassette on the float and another on the side of the insert and (I assume) when the float rises it is supposed to pulls the insert magnet along with it which in turn pulls the red slide up but is there some top level masonic secret to lining them up so it works or is it just a rubbish system?!!? I know we can use the eyeball test but this kind of niggle is just the thing that gets into my brain.....

Can't contact Teddesley Boat Company...

Ok, well the phone numbers for Bourne and Teddesley are the same and is the one we have been trying but I've tried Bourne's contact us form... -
Can't contact Teddesley Boat Company...
NealSmith100 replied to NealSmith100's topic in General Boating
This is odd - Mrs Neal definitely tells me she's been speaking to them all summer but we'll try them then! Thanks -
Hello I was just wondering if anyone knew what, if anything, has happened to the Teddesley Boat Company? We have been talking to them all summer about launching our boat there and they have been good as gold but now we have a 95% firm date of 11/10, around 3 weeks ago they stopped answering their phones and have not responded to e-mails otherwise we will need to start making alternative arrangements and it was difficult enough to find one yard in the right sort of place and price! I thought that that may have been on holiday but now I wonder if they have simply closed as if they’d gone on holiday for 3 weeks or more then wouldn’t they have changed the voice message or website or something? If they are on holiday does anyone know when they are back? It'd be sad if such a helpful bunch had suddenly closed for some reason.

Thanks! I say thanks..... I didn't paint it....!

She is freshly painted with her name and the covers are fitted, so Little Miss Sunshine is ready to go. My house buyers, however, are not Still - hopefully, on 6th September 2018.........

NealSmith100 replied to Psycloud's topic in Living Afloat
Also, their website doesn't list it but you an get a Huaweii homefi with 100Gb a month, £33 a month over 24 months with no upfront cost in their stores. I do not work for 3, honest! -
40gb mobile broadbandfor £16/mo on Three (inc Go Binge)
NealSmith100 replied to Psycloud's topic in Living Afloat
Be aware, that if you use up your data allowance at that point you lose the "go binge" part until your data resets so if you use the 40gb doing something and continue to use Netflix and Deezer you will be charged for the data! -
I got cover from GJW this week. Livingaboard in a marina - which they asked and so knew about it when they quoted. Included contents cover as well.

Crane / launch location suggestions, Midlands.

They would be perfect if they ever returned messages or calls Mercia will not allow us as we do not have a mooring there (we are on their waiting list) -
Boat For London Liveaboard £18,000
NealSmith100 replied to Alan de Enfield's topic in General Boating
Good investment. Stick it in London and it'll be worth 150k by the bank holiday weekend. And will be way bigger than any new build! -
Although some will have figured out what was happening through other threads, I felt it drew a nice bow under it to update this thread. The boat is ready, the pram and cratch are ready. The name (Little Miss Sunshine) is painted on. Some of our stuff is on it and packed. Storage unit is full. Marina reserved. We know which lorry company we are using, we have an idea of wharf to launch (depending on dates). We are merely waiting to exchange, which might be next week

Crane / launch location suggestions, Midlands.
NealSmith100 replied to NealSmith100's topic in General Boating
We called them. They said that they didn't have a crane and never specified or mentioned hiring one. Funnily enough, enough I would have remembered had they mentioned Steve Foster as he is the person that Barton's Turn said would would need to use. I'll call them again in case there just has been a mis-understanding.
