Sculling

Sculling is very pleasant. I feel like smoking a pipe when sculling but I don't smoke.

(I mean sculling with a single oar working in the falling leaf pattern rather than "sculling" as used by varsity self important types in skinny fast unstable rowing shells !

Battery drill mounted on said clamp, long shaft with a prop on the end. Rechargeable outboard.

Tried that on my kayak :) works well. Best to use a remote control plane propeller for efficiency ;)

What's this item? It has a clamp a bit like an outboard motor and it would have swivelled like a rowlock.

I have to be careful as last time I posted a mystery object I got two warning points for lewdness. I still have those warning points :banghead:

This:Another photo

Yeah you did get points, though it's a mystery why. As for this object, ain't got a Scooby.

Thole pins works for me.

In heavy weather on lumpy water you're better off sculling than rowing as you can keep steady pressure rather than catching crabs.

Steve

I think I'd rather row a small boat in a rough sea with long oars )sweeps) rather than scull it, you have to stand up or at least kneel down facing backwards to do it.

is it a mount for a medium calibre machine gun, as used on river boats in the last war by the home guard?

Could be - it does look a bit big for a long tail outboard mount. But it is very similar to that found by catweasel.

Not sure about the metal bit but the other item looks like a £20 note. This can be exchanged for beer from memory.

I have performed this exchange and can confirm you are indeed correct :)
