Asiatic Lily...............pretty hardy I've had some in a pot for years. Bet someone chucked it and it decided to stay. Not a wild flower so no need to worry.

That's a beaut! Watch out for the pollen it can stain badly!

 

Yes. the pollen stain can be almost impossible to remove completely. Whatever you do, do not try to rub it off or dampen it. The secret is to lightly apply some sellotape to remove the powder.

Does anyone know what these trees/shrubs are? We saw them around Stratford upon Avon.

yes it is a Camelia i have a red one at home and its 9 feet high, flowers are at least 4" across.

The pollen is also poisonous to dogs so do not have it indoors if you have dogs lest they breathe it in. Perhaps a reason it was dumped?

Edited to add: A quick Google to refresh my memory, the lily can cause kidney failure in dogs.
