Dry dock near manchester available for survey?

Hi everyone,

This is the most helpful website ever, so I thought I'd pick your brains once more: I have just put a deposit on a boat and I am now desperately trying to find how/where to get it surveyed. I have found one surveyor (John Crompton form Smallboatsurveys.com) who is free on June 7th, but I now need to find a place to get the boat out of the water. All the places I've contacted seem to be full until July or even later. Any advice/recommendations?

Northwich - on the Weaver so you have to go down Anderton Lift.

I thought that Wigan Dry Dock was closed?

Kerridge Dry Dock, Bollington Macclesfield,    The canal is closed at Macclesfield, you would have to come from Marple side.

I've used Uplands Marina at Anderton on a couple of occasions although the last time was 5yrs ago. There's also Portland Basin at Ashton and i think Harrals old place at Wincham Wharf is still going (though now run by someone else) and may be able to help.

You may be right Tim as I haven't seen any boats using it recently.

Sadly that is a sign of the times.

Soon it will be easier for C&RT to publish which canals are open and usable.
