  1. No! You haven't forgotten any. CRT ones anyway.

  3. Yes! Of course it is. Cracking friendly pub, excellent beers and not overpiced iirc. Been in a couple of time. Good chippy on walk back to canal.
  4. Agree with you about the Holy Inadequate and White Bear plus i would throw in the Blue Bell also on that stetch and the Swan, Borehole and the Titanic pub whose name i have forgotten in Stone. The kidneys take a bit of a thrashing over them few days/weeks when in that area. Can't place the George and Dragon if you can helpme out. Agree about the Anchor regarding the beer quality but the pub is good.
  5. Cunliffes at Stoke on Trent advertise a new range of 35' boats for £48k on their FB page though i can't see 'owt on their website. Scroll down about 6 posts https://www.facebook.com/cunliffebespokeboats/
  6. Just a thought but will someone who has a "CC licence" and then decides to take a CRT or independent winter mooring then have to cancel the "CC licence", get a refund, re-apply for a "non CC licence", no doubt with administration costs, then cancel the "non CC licence" and pay the extra for the new "CC licence" plus administration costs when they leave at the conclusion of thier winter mooring.

  9. The fact that Britains noisiest man advertises peace and quiet is a tad ironic.
  10. Forgetting November as requested. I have just done ours in Balistic Black and trust me you will need the thinners. I've never seen paint as thick. Didn't know whether to use a brush or a trowel. I started to use it without thinning and it just didn't flow. Second coat coat went on without quite as much thinning. Add as little thinners as you think you can get away with.
  11. I remember Steves boat being moored at Barbridge and him doing some work on a boat behind us when we moored at Barbridge for a couple of days although at that time we hadn't used his services. We went through Middlewich a couple of weeks back and his boat is now moored there. No idea how Oxford comes into the equation. Good chap and reliable.
  12. Martyn Ross, who did ours last time, is now also retired. I used Steve Williams this time who came out to us when we were moored at Higher Poynton on the Macc. email: Steve@IWABSS-Limited.co.uk Mob: zero7814-53067nine
  13. I've used Uplands Marina at Anderton on a couple of occasions although the last time was 5yrs ago. There's also Portland Basin at Ashton and i think Harrals old place at Wincham Wharf is still going (though now run by someone else) and may be able to help.
  14. There was a space or two advertised offside above Cholmondston lock last summer which is run by Venitian marina. Parking i would assume would be allowed at the marina but i dont know about hook up. Maybe worth a phone call. I seem to recall there was also space advertised on the offside farm moorings going down the Middlewich branch about 1/2 mile before Stanthorne lock. Seems to be car parking but again not sure on hook up. Although not quite Nantwich but not to far if you have transport. Sorry no contact details.
  15. It's a shovel and a bucket more than the contract winners will have. Everthings hired these days.
  16. Ms Horton will be right. Ms Horton is always right.
  17. A good few years ago there was some mention on one of their pages about the Trenton Mersey canal although i am the last person that should highlight someone spelling.
  18. And of course they are dredging between High Lane and Marple which will add to the dropping of the level although what effect that will have on what is perhaps a 10mls stretch between stoppages i dont know. Suppose it all adds up. We came down from Marple to Higher Poynton today and it was a bit sluggish and few boat leaning over where normally mooring is okay.
  19. If you think thats the rudest thing posted on here you aint been around long enough.
  20. Don't know if anyone else has noticed but the CRT give both winding points as above Big Lock i.e. Wardle Junction firstly and then between bridges 172 (which i think is aka Town bridge} and 172a which is of course the footbridge in question.
  21. Rode Heath or Wheelock are probably a safer bet than Middlewich. Both are on bus routes, Wheelock is on the Middlewich route not quite sure which route Rode Heath is on. Wheelock only a short bus or taxi journey to Sandbach railway station also.
  22. Tony by any chance (just going off your location)?
  23. £25.94 was the price we paid for Calor at Etruria a couple of weeks back. We've moored at most of the locations mentioned in the thread without incident. Holy Inadequate is the best pub on the system for my tuppence, if you can stand Jasons jokes that is.
