Size ? Weight ? Steel / Wood / GRP ? Depending on the above answers you could hire a car and trailer and do it yourself, or you may need an articulated lorry with Police escorts, or, anything inbetween. Probably have to wait until the end of the 'stoppage season' next spring though.
Athy
There is at least one boat mover who is a member of this forum - Nigel Carton. We've used him and would recommend him. We also used a firm called, I think, Boat Shed. Less impressed: they got our boat to its destination all right, but managed to damage its antique stove, and somehow wriggled out of any liability for so doing. Was supposed to get it to Evesham, but the Severn being in flood stoped that! Anyhow charged us £100 per day, based on Canal Plan timings, plus train tickets to and from the pick up and drop off point. Better value than 2x crane lifts and a rear steering articulated truck. But obviously slower. They were happy to move in the winter, but obviously have to work around any stoppages.

Alan de Enfield
Its much easier to let the truck take the strain (at this time of year) Saved me a 900 mile, probably 14 days+ and £2000 in fuel (by water trip)
magnetman
I had a boat moved by ES Frisby and Son recently. 32x11ft 16 ton steel trawler. That was Boston, Lincs to Reading, Berkshire. Low loader. Good rates. They move a lot of boats around.

Peter X
That's a long journey by water, two weeks plus I suppose, but worth considering if you have the time and inclination to do it yourself, and don't mind either boating in winter (despite any stoppages? I haven't checked) or waiting for better weather in spring. Otherwise I guess that road haulage might be the economic way to go, as the distance by road is not huge and it may cost less than a boat mover. If in doubt, ask the recommended people for quotes for each.
