  7. Yes you can get stove generators from here http://www.tegmart.com/
  8. I've experienced it but in summer at a busy wharf with plenty of gongoozlers. Dropping it from a small height can be disastrous! I've had many a disaster with cassettes now gone compost and life is sweet!!
  9. Those nuts on my gland are quite important
  10. I'm surprised they are even still working!
  11. The best way is to use cameras to read boat registration at locks then do automatic logging. Any unreadable boats should go in a review list for enforcers. Would require a bit of investment though. Down in London they could test it.
  12. What your doing isn't right under guidance. Can't return to same place within 2 weeks afaik!
  13. Mine goes to landfill in bin bags. Don't care what anyone says its much more environmentally friendly compared to pouring a big tank of piss and shite mixed with blue down the sewers. What I wonder is if you can make a fuel from it for the stove
  14. I had a barrus shire on my last boat. Great engine. Never broke any belt even with a big alternator upgrade and I did some miles with that thing
  15. Yes a charity needs forming. Then get members and try get the funds rolling in with incentives for donating... This is not the way. No one will donate for it in private ownership and no proper planning. Even the crowd funding page is very lax on information.
  16. Its now called Emma John and its a continuous cruiser.
  17. You may find no ballast in there. I know my boat is only ballasted in the engine room and in the gas locker at the front.
  18. Yes called a baffle plate and when I bought my boat it was clogged up. Always good to give it a scrape now and then.
  19. Its on the Coventry Canal.. Streethay Wharf
  20. I'd like to say I was like a normal person and waited but it took me 1 week to make my mind up... Only mistake in rushing was ending up with the wrong boat. Now I have the boat I wanted.
  21. My panels are resting on the hand rails then I simply drilled holes and used wire rope to crimp them tight. It was quick and simple but I guess someone can just come along and cut the wire...
