I think it's going to be fascinating, to see how they go for Burnham now. He's stood up and, as PM, clearly said that the policies set in place by Thatcher, the elevation of wealth and assets above all else, deregulation and privatisation, property as investment not home, the English exceptionalism of Brexit, wealth extraction for the elite - austerity for everyone else, have failed the people of the country. He's right of course, it's obvious, but can never be admitted by those who have enriched themselves from us. To do so would open the door to real change, and the turning off of the money tap they've grown fat on. It's going to take a day or so for the oligarchy to muster the think tanks and hacks, the hedge fund owners, 'the markets', the internet goons, and attack, but attack they will. Burnham can not be allowed to get away with it, to shift the debate off their terms. My hope is Burnham will fight back, something Labour have not been strong enough to do in living history. I am thinking of rejoining the Labour Party.
