Nickhlx
Tayna batteries ( https://www.tayna.co.uk/ ) and Bristol Batteries (now BBL Batteries) (http://www.bblbatteries.co.uk/ ) have done some good prices on flooded lead acid batteries ( Trojans) for me in the past if that is any help. Good turnover (fresh stock) and fully charged on arrival is something to check when you get them (i.e. rested voltage with a known accurate voltmeter) Nick
WotEver
You don’t want Trojans for a BT. Cheap and cheerful starter batteries are ideally suited to the job.
Dr Bob
I didn't know BT made batteries. I thought they were in telecoms.
Nickhlx
No - not Trojans for a Bowthruster - I was just using the example that they have done good prices on them when I needed some for the main domestic bank
cuthound
If access to your BT batteries is difficult, thus making it hard to top them up, AGM's are maintenance free and are well suited to applications like a BT which requires high current to be delivered. More expensive though.
Detling
Decent car starter battery is ideal
blackrose
I finally managed to speak to someone knowlegable at Battery Megastore who told me that the Hancook sealed batteries would be fine for max voltages of 14.4 -14.7v. Previously I'd been told 14.4v and with the voltage drop to the bow I know that the charge voltage to my BT batteries is 14.6v. So anyway, the geezer recommended these which I fitted today and they are very powerful indeed. I didn't realise how poorly my thruster was working before. https://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/mf31-1000-x2-hankook.html#
