mooring sites in Warwick on the Grand Union

I'd second the Saltisford arm. Safe pleasant moorings with all facilities and electrical hook up. About a 5 to 10 minute walk to Sainsburys.

Biggest issue will be to find a space.

  • 5 weeks later...

Trick is to find somewhere far enough from the A46 bridge to be quiet.

Strange thing about mooring by Cape of Good Hope is that access to the pub is over a lock gate only, with quite a long drop to the water (unless you don't mind walk to next bridge and finding your way around local roads).

Not great for elderly/infirm. I always think this is a dodgy way to return from a pub!

Best by far is saltisford arm, busy this weekend with a show on steam boat Afamant in there at moment. Phone them and you might find room but be prepare d to breast up.

Failing that top of cape locks limited mooring but just under bridge some armco. Have moored there many times with no problems. Also as you make a right at salti arm junction armco along there again no problems.

Left salti arm trust few days ago visiting resident friends and enjoyed the stay. Short walk to Warwick town via side gate or bus across from gate if your pins are not upto walking far.

We've always moored up just before the start of the flight & never had a problem...it's free and handy for Warwick for a re-stock; We were told by a local to avoid mooring between the Radford Road overbridge & the Town Centre, once you reach Lidl things get eminently nicer.

After Radford bridge you pass through Sydenham estate and as on so many estates there are always some that cause trouble. Shame it just makes anyone living there look bad and of course they are not in nearly all cases.
