Martin Megson
At the risk of pocking a hornets nest this gets my full support . I have no issue with genuine Continuous Cruiser's, indeed I may become one after I retire.

Barry
So was the phrase 'continuous moorer' originally coined by Victor Swift or is that an outrageous claim? Inspired by CMOT Dibbler from Discworld perhaps? So which came first - Life of Brian or 'Cut Me Own Throat' Dibbler in Discworld? Doing my own research, CMOT Dibbler first appeared in 'Guards Guards' published in 1989 and Life of Brian was produced in 1979

UMBEG (Unlawfully Moored Boats Enforecement Group) is a joint task force set up by BW, EA and the Thames Valley police to ensure that overstay notices are put on boats without affecting the paint work (or lack of it) and not infringing peoples human rights

carlt
So was the phrase 'continuous moorer' originally coined by Victor Swift or is that an outrageous claim? The earliest use of the term I can find is by Bones, some two years before I can find NBW's first use....by Canaldrifter, not Victor (But Tom would rather credit CWDF, than Tone, I imagine). Nose Miner
It should surely have been Eradication of Crusties Action Group! I did wonder why the police were involved in it - has continuous mooring become a criminal offence whilst I wasn't looking?
