Sophie gave birth to our beautiful daughter Lorelie Hope Arnold at

8:25pm on Monday 30th March 09. She was born after a surprisingly

short and very peaceful labour, Soph did incredibly well and is fine

now - tired but fine. Lorelie weighs 5lbs 11.5oz and spends most of

her time sleeping peacefully and making incredibly sweet little

sounds. I spend most of my time leaning over her in her cot or holding

her in my arms and looking at her.

Returning to the boat in a couple of days. good thing I made a nice new wide gangplank! Finally the spare bedroom will be Lorelie's room.

Many congratulations Tom and Sophie and welcome to Lorelie.

We are cruising from Newbury to Bath next week, and the girls will now definitely want to look out for you!

Edited for asking stupid further question.

Thanks, and yes, first baby. The inspiration for her name was a friend of ours called Lorely who lives on a boat near us, and the middle name runs in my family.

Congratulations, isn't she lovely! We found that the first couple of weeks after our first child was born were really special. Take it easy and enjoy yourselves.
