  1. Spiney Norman ******Warning****** Flounce Alert********** Joining this discussion late I had a number of multi quotes ready to reply but reading the last 12 pages most of them have been covered by others and i've run out of greenies. The only thing I have left to add is........I am shocked and saddened by PaulC's post and it implications but not surprised as it confirms many of my suspicions as how CWDF was being run. For the majority of you left on this forum I wish you well, for those with blinkers on I hope you will finally have your 'road to damascus' moment. Mods or Admin Please delete my account or block me. Many thanks
  2. Maybe we should give your "great majority of members" a voice then. Create a Poll so they dont have to remain silent
  3. baring in mind it was created by someone regularly being told to start his own forum if he wasnt happy, and it became a place where those excomunicated from here were able to have a right to reply which they couldnt here, it was always going to start off with a bit of a bang, which wasnt helped by sock puppet posters from here creating abusive threads. It wont suit everybody, especially those who like a 'Report button' but at least people have the ability to post there if they choose to without fear or favour.
  4. Looks like i'm going to run out of greenies pretty quick again today
  5. You can knock up quite a tune tapping various componants of old engine. I have an old mate who holds me in much esteem when we broke down once on the Peak Forest in our Dawncraft Dandy. The Honda outboard suddenly lost all drive to the prop. He tells the story that armed with just a hammer a tapping ita few times it was miraculously fixed, when in reality all i was doing was replacing the shear pin.
  6. John V on the other forum suggests this :- He needs to be told that if he gets 12V on the solenoid input to check the other terminal that goes to the starter itself ....... if 0 then solenoid bollixed if 12v starter bollixed possibly sticky or worn brushes so try a tap with a hammer as first (temporary) cure. and you can also tell him that what comes from banning people -: hope this helps

  15. Ive always used Thin Houshold Bleach as above and you can get about 5million gallons for a £1....almost make sure it is the Thin stuff. I also use it to sterilse the beer making kit
  16. Matt Miller of Miller Marine. He is mobile and also based at Uxbridge Boat Centre. 07724983966 Used him a few times with no problems and he is also BSS and Gas
  17. You could always start your own forum.....now where have i heard that before? oh yes, from you, many times Heathen
  18. Only in the Mysterious world of Dave C Mayall
  19. You are assuming the answer to a is No. Any person having hired their gas bottle or inherited one with a boat may well have a reasonable belief that they can refill the bottle. Their appropriation is not dishonest. It may breach the Hire agreement and invoke civil law but its not criminal and not dishonest. Nor is their intention to permanently deprive. Same for your shopping trolly. Youve paid your pound, and unless there are signs or a physical barrier preventing you from removing it then a person may well have a genuine belief that they can use it around the town for the rest of their shopping. Not dishonest
  20. But not dishonestly........which is what you keep ignoring...the dishonest appropriation of property
  21. Is the appropriation Dishonest? Is there an intention to permanently deprive? It doesnt matter how you try and spin it Dave, Its not theft unless the perp is going to 'sing like a birdy' in interview and cop a plea. As george says above, Take and drive away had to be introduced because joy riders apparently didnt intend to permanently deprive.
  22. Well if you all want to really get paranoid you might as well remove your licence from the window as your location can be gleaned from that, and while your at it repaint the boat in a dull unkempt colour to make it less attractive to all those boat tealeafs out there. Come on people
