A lot of the roads over the tops here are closed til Monday, M62 still open though.

I nearly put a jumper on earlier, but decided against it as it was only -4 :D

Heading northwest from Hebden Bridge over the tops this morning the Calderdale roads were gritted and clear. Got to the Burnley boundary and the snow was deep with just a few wheel tracks through, and plenty of signs of cars having turned. We did the same and dropped back into the valley bottom.

Coming back late afternoon there had been more snow and even the main A roads were 'interesting', until we got back into Calderdale again.

No snow here this morning but we do have bad ice on the roads instead.

Could be an interesting drive to work this morning 🤔

All meetings cancelled for today so I only have to get to the office at least.

We have driven from new whittington to Rotherham in snow all the way,  it looks like no gritters have been out.

Jayne at dentist I am in Tesco's having a mocha whilst car charging for free. We are going to make sure boat ok before shopping for Christmas 😟

We didn't have a bad drive in in the end. No snow until we crossed the M1 and into Sheffield. A few roads were a bit dicey but on the whole it wasn't too bad.

It's all rapidly melting now though. Will be mostly gone by the time we drive home :D

What is the heat insulation like in a modern camper and do you use a gas or diesel heater?

We had a few slides but nothing serious, back in Chesterfield now and roads clear for the most

Absolutely brilliant. It is super warm.

It has gas and electric heating. The electric can only to be used on hook up of course so we mostly use it on gas as we are rarely on hook up.

Love the gas heating. It is so much quieter than the diesel heating was on the boat.

ETA: We run the heating (and the hot water, fridge and cooker) from refillable LPG bottles (2x11kg Gaslow) which works out about half the price of Calor for a refill.
