  1. Now that Middlewich Boats are no longer operational i have seen boat moored along that stretch quite regularly.

  3. Sorry summat cropped up so couldn't walk up yesterday. Good news is i walked up today just before lunch and they were just getting ready for opening up passage. So already to go 3 days early if i am not mistaken.
  4. We are sat above Big lock and had a walk up this morning. Top gate is fitted, brickwork looked pointed up, not sure about other bits and bobs. Can't see any reason for an overrun. i'll have another walk up tomorrow if i get cahnce and ask the question.
  5. I went passed Claymore hire base a few weeks back having previously emailed and left phone messages, neither received a reply, about hiring the dry dock. As i passed a guy was milling about so i asked about availabilty for early spring. The gist of his reply was that Claymore will have got rid of it by then but to whom he knew not or maybe they lease it and are giving up the lease.
  6. Was there any reason why this work was not scheduled for a November start then should the job be bigger than first thought there would have been a bit of wiggle room?
  7. Back to the drawing board then. Meter = 75mV, my shunt 50mV.
  8. Would the 100amp meters need to go through the suppliers 100amp shunt or could i run them through my existing 200amp shunt? I have found a supplier who does meters only.
  9. From my experiences with RCR neither term is anywhere near applicable.
  10. Still is on the branch or it was this passed week or so. Now on towpath side at Midway rather than Venitian offside above Chummly lock.
  11. Yes you pull it up with the lug and cock it over to one side where by it usually stays. On the odd occasion it slips back down but not very often. You will acquire the knack of lifting and cocking over in short order. No fancy parts to go wrong either.
  12. Funnily enough i had too change ours a couple of months back from a malfunctioning pop up type and replaced with this https://www.screwfix.com/p/retained-basin-waste/57005
  13. This or similar fitted too the spare connection on the right hand side of the waste concoction https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-hose-connector/48625 One of these (2 if hot fill also) cut into the risers too the taps or remove couplings and replace with washmac tap if room https://www.screwfix.com/p/jg-speedfit-15apt2p-appliance-tee-15-x-15-x/27471 Drill 3 holes (or one big un) for flexi hoses through cabinet sides and is that not job done. Did they have too make room for the W/M, run cable for plug etc. I just can not see a problem if the W/M is going into an existing space next to the sink unit. Someone else had the same idea above as i was typing, slowly.
  14. I am sure he is not. It was meant as a joke. I notice you are in the same pound. Perhaps.....
  15. Oh eck. i have found myself stuck on a 20mls pound with the worlds most miserable man.?
  16. Why not make Barnton timed like Saltersford? Given there is what, 5 minutes between the 2 surely its not beyond the wit of man to sync the times accordingly. There is enough room at either end of Barnton to wait if needed.

  18. On my 2 occasions as a buyer both over 25% off the original asking price, although both had been reduced from the original price when I made my bid. As a seller it was around 10%. My buys were through brokers my sale was private through Apollo Duck, draw your own conclusions from that. Not sure how to vote in your poll.
  19. Perhaps have a look on Pennine Waterways site at the Manchester, Bury, Bolton canal and judge from the photos on there if it would be worth a trip. Not far from your specified areas.

  24. Hi Catweasel, we spoke a couple of week back at Nantwich (we discussed Vetus cooling system). We have just done the Severn from Stourport down to Worcester and Cpt Pegg and Sea Dog have got it on the button. SWMBO has nowt to be worried of and there is nothing to be wary of as far as i could tell. Bit like the Weaver in a lot of respect. May see you again we are sat above Hawford Junction on the Droitwich waiting to head back to Stourport tomorrow.
  25. Just had a quote from Norbury Wharf for blacking of £720 for 3 coats of Intertuf on a 55 footer. Still waiting for one or two more quotes to come in. Presume that does not include the base.
