  1. Worked ok on mine. Standard Blacking. Roughed lightly. Been on 18 months now & no probs.
  2. Dave. If Mike too far can loan you an EU10. Back on board tomorrow evening.
  3. When you look at Solar installs even higher. My MPPT happy to 150V dc. Bigger units can take higher. EG Morningstar 600 Wide array input operating voltage range (5 - 525 VDC) Mind you a fair few panels for a boat.
  4. Ref insuring. How long between Surveys is required? The boat in question was done less than 2 years ago. Surely that transfers with boat?

    Pewsey Wharf II

Not so much a stoppage but Phase II of the works is supposedly starting from Monday.[15th] Well that's when the Contractors are meant to move in. The long awaited repairs to the VM's. Imagine will prob. be a couple of days setting up & actual work start towards end of the week. Expecting various access & mooring issues for the next few weeks. Bistro & Bar will still be open. Rumour is that Siding / Armco is being used! So at least it should last!?
  6. Next time you are near the Wharf tap on me boat. I've got the DVD's here you can borrow/have.
  7. FFS. Graham has actually put up. Time for others to SHUT UP. Please! Well done G.
  8. Made me think of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD-LvABxMsY
  9. Why not ask Paul http://livingonanarrowboat.co.uk/ how he goes about his training days. Perhaps marketed like that [or as an 'Experiance'] but for longer periods could be a way forward?
  10. Make & model? Gives people half a chance to help then!
  11. Well all this hi-tech talk has put me off Trojans for good. They appear to require fastidious regimes & all kinds of wonderous devices to maintain them in fine fettle. Fank gawd for fork lift batteries. They seem far less fussy. Or maybe thats a reflection of the owners?
  12. Daft question? You are disconnecting the chargers as well as the laptops?
  13. At WR the bottom gates leak. The top gates leak less. Normally shut top & let a bit out the lock to hold top gates. The more let down out the lock the more snugly the top gates fit. Except Brimslade [3rd up]. That just leaks. Often the pound above is low/dry. When approaching WR bottom lock you can see the Cill & top gates through the slot in the bottom gate! Appears to be where the gates have been 'barged'. Well it's at the right height. They were fitted in 2010 i believe. Reworked a year or so later. Had a fair bit of fun with the brickwork as well as that was the chilly winter and the muck wouldn't go off.
  14. Don't alter the fact that mine dose this. New bottle on. Blue flame.
  15. Mine does this as me bottle nears empty.
  16. Grandpa told me never buy a house where the address was 'the meadows' Always get somewhere that was higher than the neighbours, ie buy on a hill. Simple olde worlde advice but seems about right. May have over simplified this.
  17. Believe they are off in the new year. Towpath talk.
  18. Tommy. Please at least consider a larger capacity genny. Say 1500-2000w. At the moment you really are limiting your choices and also allowing no room for any growth. EG you may decide in the future to use a power tool, or a hoover, or washing machine? If you have a small set [1000w peak] you may not be able to run them. There is a lot more choice if you go larger. If possible get an 'inverter' style so that it will run sensitive kit. This will save looking for one in the future.
  19. Agreed. Thought it was to be about Unican. Turned out to be about Urinecan
  20. Electro-chemical reaction with inductive loads & resistive [joints etc].& figures given to 3 decimal places! What a load of 'Engineers' talked on here sometimes. End.
  21. Cant remember. More of a concern was how the Ebay ones failed. Smoke, a couple actually burnt A scorched out the holders. No help from suppliers except offered a discount if i wanted any more! No i do not remember who they were. http://www.bedazzled.uk.com/ for those unable or too lazy
  22. Bought Ebay. All knackered within a couple of years. Bought BeDazz. ones. Still working 4 years on. No fails. Your choice!
