    Gardner Paint

2 cylinder block on a 2LW was also used on a 5LW or an 8LW. Common parts bin job.
  2. I would use Autolec services at Rugby myself to recon that.
  3. Mill lift bridge 205 has been rebalanced and I opened it one handed a couple of weeks ago. I only needed the 2nd hand when it came time to grab the balance beam to finish opening it. No drama and I am not built like a brick outhouse either.
  4. All open and cleared away when I looked this afternoon.
  5. If this is the program I think it is, the girl is a friend of mine called Holly Parrott.

    Too much oil

What spec oil as well cos if the spec is too high that will cause bore glazing.
  10. A friend of mine who owns a hire boat fleet told me that the biggest problem is that during the handover and advice session the only one to pay any attention to boating matters is the one person who will be at the helm when they set sail, the others in the party all seem to be more concerned with how the tv/fridge/cooker etc work.
  11. The boat between Elkingtons and Varney's is Hesperus according to the name painted on the port cabin side. From the look of the opening in the hull at the cabin rear at the towpath side the stern is partially ripped off.
  12. I think you are right, I just had to re read the wiki article twice to read the date correctly!

  14. On the advice of an Eibersbacher engineer from Northants Diesel in pre bio/low sulphur fuel days we ran the eibersbacher heater in the bosses Landy 101 from its own tank filled with Kero, as kero burnt cleaner than diesel.
  15. CRT dredger across the entrance with the spud legs hard down would be a good blockage.
  16. If an HA is the same gaskets wise as an HR, a favourite leak point on an old engine is the gasket under the fuelpump housing, over time the gasket walks the middle layer of gasket material out of the joint due to the different expansion rates of the cast iron crank case and aluminium pump housing. Tightening the holding down bolts will not cure the leak, only a new gasket will do which means the heads will have to come off.
  17. Water skiing has been done behind RN warships before.
  18. I changed an STW3 marine lump from bypass plate to filter by just unscrewing the plate and screwing the filter on, no bolts or anything as the blank is internally threaded the same as the filter. The then spare blank was used to replace a filter on an ST2 that used to crack the filters case due to sitting so close to the beds that the case touched as the engine vibrated causing a fatigue crack.
  19. The CRT van was another contractor, MPA do pump maintenance.
  20. A side plate on the tank popped from a slight bow inwards to a slight bow outwards.

  22. They do exist, Landrover 2.25 diesel and BMC 2.2 diesel have them, they are wired in series with an earth lead from the last plug to the head.
  23. Coffman starter on a radial petrol for real rather than the cinema, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65qrzgbTTcQ On a diesel here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01Sr8S9uQMc
