bag catcher - weld spikes to front of boat below water?

If one were navigating in an area with lots of rubbish or crossing the chanel maybe it would be worth making up a bag trap by welding spikes to the front which would grab stuff and prevent prop fouling.

 

Could rake it off with a keb at a convenient time.

A seriously bad idea. how would you feel if someone fell into the water in front of your boat , and would have survived with a few bruises if your "bag catcher" hadn't speared them?

Most canals, you'll have been crushed under the boat before you get to the prop

 

And, I think you'll find the rare incidents have been from people going off the back and into the prop in locks. You are inventing a solution to a non existent problem

No drag as it will flip the caught rubbish into a bin on the deck or onto some oiks boat who insist on cruising with there fenders down.

That does'nt look yoghurt pot freindly, maybe they welded them on deliberitely.
