RichLech
I've just bought a Jabsco 2.9 Par-Max pump, which comes with two sets of fittings. One set presents a barbed male for a hose fitting and the other set a 1/2 bsp male for use with HEP20. Does anyone know which HEP20 fitting can be used with the Jabsco pump? I thought it might be the tap connection fitting but the inner protruding part of the tap connection will not fit up inside the pump connector. Any ideas? davidg
Cleghorn Waring, or whatever they are called nowadays, will sell you a special Hep2o adaptor. Alternatively you could take a Stanley knife to the protruding bit of the fitting; take the rubber washer off first.

ditchcrawler
I would suggest you use the barbed connector and a short length of flexible food grade hose to isolate the pump from ridged pipework.
jonesthenuke
I have tried the suggested female BSP push fit connectors but could not obtain a reliable seal as the geometry of the Jabsco part means you are trying to seal on the threads alone (difficult unless tapered etc). If anyone has succeeded in using the Jabsco threaded parts I would welcome advice on the sealant used? The easiest approach is the suggested use of the barb fittings and short sections of hose, and this does have the advantage of simplifying the alignment of the pipework with the pump connections. In the end I machined some replacement fittings from Acetal such that these provide a 15mm diameter pipe stub suitable for direct fitting of push fit connectors. frangar
I use these http://www.plumbase.co.uk/polyplumb-hand-tighten-tap-100008071-2204463 Work a treat..seals on a rubber washer...not the threads...used it on my pump...toilets...etc Other suppliers are available....the link was first web hit I found. Midland chandlers used to do them....as did rose narrowboats. Cheers Gareth
jonesthenuke
I did try standard tap connectors but (my recollection is) the geometry of the jabsco part was not suitable for the types I could buy at the time. If the Polyplumb fitting works then that will help next time.
frangar
Standard tap fittings don't work but the polyplumb hand tighten ones are a joy to use...never had so much as a drip on all the boats I've used them on. Cheers Gareth
smileypete
Fernox LS-X or Loctite 55 will seal parallel threads fine. cheers, Pete. ~smpt~
LEO
Hi, The best bet (and that recommended by Jabsco) is a flexible joint with hose and Jubilee clips. I had a fairly rigid Shurflow fixed to Hep2o or similar, the 'thrust' of the pump when it switched on caused the housing to split slightly after about 6 years and and the constant leagage caused problems.
