Would you buy this boat?

There's also a maintainance issue (bit like a recent blacking discussion). Any boat yard can fix a steel hull, aluminium is far more involved and is a specialist job and like steel aluminium will oxidise - it's just not called rust.

Its a lot of money for a 12 year old boat.............more than a grand a foot. Think you could probably get a new boat for that sort of price. And personally no I wouldn't buy but then I am not a fan of cruiser sterns.

Presumably a sea otter. Their current 56ft boat retails around £120000 new - before any "extras".

Apparently the boat cost £160K new but unfortunately MT went out of business. Seems this was the boat that caused their downfall. Shame---a lot of thought has gone into it. I'm in the market for my first boat and keeping an open mind but I fear an ally hull would get too much stick from a novice like me and I don't think I could live with having the engine in the foredeck---I like to hear what an engine's doing! It was the fit out that caught my eye and temporarily clouded my judgement. Oh--nearly forgot--I can't afford it anyway.

Destined to become the Delorean of the canals I fear.

Just needs a proper ladder frame chassis, 300TDi, transfer box, a couple of diffs etc

It depends on your point of view. My aluminium box has a 4.2 V8 petrol engine, a flappy paddled gearbox and only one diff. It was however built by the same company as the one you are referring too.
