    The Bentley is walkable but there are some detours needed in the middle bit around Clarke's Lane.

    Dont delay this task - mild steel water tanks become horrible after a few years and the only solution is to get in there, clean it down and then retreat with potable bitumen (or install a liner). Its a task which needs doing every three years.

    Thats the first image I have seen of the Danks Branch Not sure if you have it, but dont forget the Aylsham Navigation in Norfolk (a great canoe trip)

    Next time...... we will know where to come to test run the exercise and flush out the unintended consequences. Sadly, after working out the core model of the game we ran out of space on the back of our fag packet!

    Spot on - there were long periods when I really imagined you all out there, slogging away and working round the incidents I announced from the Aldridge Field Station.

    There are times when messing with time travel its best not to be drawn on some technicalities. I can endorse the comment that the accumulation of negative points was hard won, especially after plan A was thwarted. Anyone would think that we had to make some of this up as we went along......... Glad you all enjoyed it.

    My understanding is that the southern entrance was blocked as soon as the NML was built - hence its Arm status. The points are there, and whats more its a there and back option so double bubble plus the bonus of a virtual pint at the Cape Arms.

    I think of the cruising dimension as more of a strategic board game, with an almost infinite number of options available. Sort of snakes and ladders played in four dimensions......

    I am guessing you mean the original Brindley summit vs the current Smeaton Summit. Interesting thought because you would get 4 pts per mile for the uppermost route. However, the Brindley summit was so short it didnt really seem worth trying to include it. I think I overlooked the Two Locks line.....sorry
