I had similar problems a couple of days ago. Didn't work on Internet Explorer but did on Firefox.

 

Then it worked on IE, now it isn't again.

I was using Firefox too and doesn't work on IE either.

 

...and me, using FF

can you supply URL you are using maybe it has changed from what I have?

try opening up a command prompt and typing

 

ping www.jim-shead.com

 

If you get a reply you can see the host, so the problem is likely to be browser related.

 

If you get no reply then try

 

tracert www.jim-shead.com

 

and see where it stops, probably your isp if it does not get to webfusion.com

thanks I have tried both but no go. the trace just says "Unable to resolve target system name"

try ping 212.67.210.22, the IP address of www.jim-shead.com

 

That should work and proves routing is ok.

 

Now not certain, but the DNS entry for www.jim-shead.com loosk like a dynamic hosting arrangement to me (reverse DNS look up give the host name as supanames-22.supanames.co.uk), so it could be your isp's DNS is messing up.

Odd though I have had the router for a couple of months now and not experienced problems before. I don't know if I have tried Jim Sheads site on it successfully before though. I have certainly been able to access Jim's site through the same ISP in the past.

I suspect a DNS problem. My ISP is TalkTalk (ex Tiscali).

 

Jim's Shed, however is working :cheers:

I am Talk Talk but ex-Pipex. I just tried it on my work Laptop through the same router going through the companies network and it finds Jim shead's site without a problem. So can't be router I guess. It must be the DNS with the ISP.
