You're going to have to explain that one to me.

He tied up at the waterpoint just as i was about to go on it, ( the wind having died down,), i could not be bothered faffing about any more, so just sailed past him.

''Casting off''. You were knitting instead of seeing to the water?😃

Err, well strong offshore wind for two days, i did try. Then as i was going to try again another boat came along, just as i was casting off!

I'd filled the bottlesthe previous day, just in case of such a rare event.

“Strong Offshore winds”. You’re worrying me. Where the hell are you?

Well, I mean strong gusty winds blowing straight from the waterpoint, the gap is a bit tight for manoevering.

And my wife, a keen knitter, used to refer to mooring up as "casting on".

Can't we just let go of this topic... :)

No.

I want to know why he put a plastic cap, which plainly does not fit the tank filler, down the pipe in the first place.

And when is he going to fish out LadyG's short dip stick?

It was a pun on casting off. Let go was the term used by the working boatmen.
