Split Pin
Trying to find what this plaque was made for, it was most likely for something in the West Midlands
magnetman
Reopening of a tunnel? Random thought Dudley Tunnel was reopened in 1973. Mike Tee
Blisworth? (its obviously a modern boat from the windows despite the steerers clothes) eta - probably not looking at the tunnel width! magnetman
There is a bridge number the shape of which might be a clue? It looks very like Grand Union bridge numbers.
Heartland
Yes The bridge number is of importance, but does it have to be a specific location but a representation of a narrowboat passing under a bridge. Is this plaque ceramic or metal and and is there anything on the reverse?
BEngo
It is not the Blisworth Tunnel reopening plaque from 1984. N
Alstonite
This is the Dudley Canal Tunnel reopening plaque so its not that. Edited November 2, 2023 by Alstonite
Francis Herne
The truss (bridge? gate?) top-right is interesting too. There are steps up from the towpath mid-right. It looks more like a bridge than a tunnel to me. The Staffs & Worcester and T&M have several tight bridges like that (assuming the proportions are correct) over lock tails but I don't recognise it. My first thought was Lapworth above the junction but I can't explain why. EDIT: Lapworth does have both arched brick bridges with oval plaques, and truss bridges similar to top-right. I've only been there once though. Edited November 2, 2023 by Francis Herne

It is a brass plaque It is one in a friends late husbands collection which her sons are mounting on a board for her as a memory. I have asked if there is anything on the back. I will add any further information which comes to light. I find it odd that there is no date or organisation on it. Steven
magnetman
Also the bridge number is not central.
Mike Tee
If it’s a bridge, it’s one without a towpath - unless it’s artistic license in play.

matty40s
I'm wondering if it's just a commemorative plaque for a Midlands based Hotel boat, issued at the end of a booked holiday.
