john.k
There are canvas awning/sunshade /shadesail companies a plenty.............cost will be high for quality materials............id expect a boat canvas company to be a lot pricier than a domestic one. blackrose
Since there's not much spray coming off the water onto the deck of a canal boat I've never really understood what a dodger is for? Just to keep the wind off your legs? What about the rest of one's body?

magnetman
Oh its to wrap around the stern rails. I thought it was a bimini thing. I guess one advantage would be it would cut down the wind in the legs problem.
Ronaldo47
When my late father-in-law wanted a weather-proof curtain for his porch, my wife found a local firm that made up tarpaulins for lorries. She gave them a dimensioned drawing and they knocked up one from some of their offcuts, including eyelets, for a very reasonable price.
Peanut
A spray hood over the hatch would allow you to keep the hatch open in the rain when moored up. There are many suppliers of quality canvas, but it might be better to get someone to make one for you. https://www.profabrics.co.uk/collections/marine-fabric-canvas These list fabrics and may sell you some, there are others: https://canvasman.co.uk/products/ https://www.cjmarine.co.uk/shop/ You will also need tubes and fittings: https://www.seascrew.com/browse.cfm

What's that got to do with the subject? The OP is asking about a dodger.

When I had a Drascombe Lugger day boat I found a company who made the curtains for curtain sider lorries. They made up a really durable cover for much less than boat cover companies. David Mack
We had new cloths made for Fulbourne by Tarpaulin Supply & Repair Co of Erdington. Nice people to deal with and they make up all sorts of covers for many applications from a range of materials. And their premises back onto the Birmingham and Fazeley at Salford Bridge, so you can collect by boat!
