Chinese diesel heater woes.

Yep, that works quite well, but what happens at the base of the slit...???

Looking back to the Webby I had on my last bote, the exhaust tube was some sort of crushable spiral tube, possibly aluminium. I think I have some up in the workshop (along with a recon Webasto).  Must go up an see if it fits these Chinese heaters.

I would have thought, as it's a tapered fit, it doesn't really matter as long as it doesn't split the tube. Perhaps drilling a small hole before cutting it may help.

I was more thinking, its a hole on the live side of the clamp, through which exhaust gas can escape!

Oh, right. I spose it depends where the clamp is in relation to the slit, and how big a slit it is.

All this is rather too complicated for me. Might just stick with burning lumps of coal, and sell the heater for 300 quid on ebay.

Blimey is that what they fetch now? I've got four of 'em!

At that sort of price one might be better off with a reconditioned webasto or eberspacher.

Granted it's a bit hit & miss, but by the sounds of it so are these Chinese heaters.

At that sort of price, I wouldn't have got one in the first place.

Who sells these then?

Curious now as I've only ever seen reconditioned webasto or eberspachers that run radiators.

Right, just dug out my water Webastos. They have 22mm exhausts rather than 24mm, so totally incompatible.

Stainless steel exhaust hose with far deeper corrugations tho. Same clips as Rusty just bought.

I reckon you should go out and buy a brand new eberspacher so we can measure that and compare too.

Kerosene seems to be a popular, cheap alternative. Where you get it from, idk

From the ESSO Blue delivery man - it is another name for paraffin, but probably less well refined than domestic paraffin for use in house heaters. It is 28 second heating oil.
