I'm at a new mooring where shore power is 20p/kwh.

It seems high to me since the average cost of electricity in the UK is around 14.4p/kwh. The last place I was at charged about 16p/kwh but they added an outrageous charge of 70p/day just for having the bollard which was really irritating, so perhaps I should be happy now...

For those who have shore power at their moorings what are you being charged please?

19p from memory, but to be honest I just stick £5 or £10 on the card and stick it in the meter never look to see how many units that gives me.

That 14.4p will be plus a daily charge if my home tarriff is anything to go by.

Just looked at my home tarriff it's gone up from  13.75p and 20.74p a day  to 18.64 plus 22.81p a day as of June (there has been a hike across the board since My last deal) so at 20p that's not bad.

Ok, I didn't realise that.

Ok thanks, so 20p/kwh is about right then.

Cheers

Metermacs :

From 1st November 2018 the Canal & River Trust has renegotiated the electricity price for the forthcoming year and the new price is as follows:-

The kwh charge is 15.4655 pence/kwh (including 5% VAT).
The standing kwh charge is 0.4147 pence/kwh (including 20% VAT).

This gives a total fee of 15.88 pence/kwh.

This is an overall increase of 2.35 pence/kwh.
