badgerbag Posted July 7, 2020 Report Posted July 7, 2020 Hi, can anyone help? A couple of months ago I found a rather good video of a boat going up the Atherstone flight, very professionally done, with lots of windlass work, and rushing water and background music of, I think, banjo music, rather than the usual wind and flapping anoraks. The film maker had made a couple of canal based films and some on other topics, and I think she might have had her own YouTube channel. I promised to sent it to a friend and now, of course, I can’t find it. It’s a bit of a longshot but if it rings a bell with anyone I’d love find it again. cheers
Rob-M Posted July 7, 2020 Report Posted July 7, 2020 Was it one of Rebecca Jane Photography boating videos...?
roland elsdon Posted July 7, 2020 Report Posted July 7, 2020 If someone was playing the banjo when I was going up towards Atherstone I would ; a) Go very quick b) Keep going flat out. 1 1

Dharl Posted July 7, 2020 Report Posted July 7, 2020 Not sure if this is the one? It’s a piano rather than banjo.......
Stellar2lw Posted July 7, 2020 Report Posted July 7, 2020 The film is by Mykaskin and a search for Historic Narrowboat Pair on the Coventry Canal carrying coal should find it.

badgerbag Posted July 7, 2020 Author Report Posted July 7, 2020 I think it was banjo, or maybe banjo and fiddle. It sounded a bit like Irish session music to me. Not sure about Rebecca Jane Photography, I’ll see if I can find her.
Ray T Posted July 7, 2020 Report Posted July 7, 2020 (edited) This one? Atherstone flight. Banjo towards the end. Edited July 7, 2020 by Ray T To add banjo bit + video.

That is one I was thinking of but thought it was one of Rebecca's rather than Mike's, I didn't go and look for it to check. Rebecca's is probably of long lining up Audlem.
badgerbag Posted July 7, 2020 Author Report Posted July 7, 2020 Now, long lining could very well be the one, have you got a link? I still can’t find it.

badgerbag Posted July 7, 2020 Author Report Posted July 7, 2020 Dear oh dear, I couldn’t have got it more wrong if I’d tried.

roland elsdon Posted July 8, 2020 Report Posted July 8, 2020 I was concerned about the banjo being aloud (sic) near the cut. Shortly after buying our house in rural australia the local village hall advertised ‘duelling banjo festival‘ We knew at that point it was join em or get out of town. Tragic if they have followed us back.
