It is indeed. We went round to Sutton after we had stocked up on supplies at Stalham. Now amended thank you.

StalhamStaithe201608.jpg.1da62cae3283ea2d4827de04aed626c6.jpgHear hear to the cruiser pictures, particularly of far-flung places. The Nice Mr Google confirms StalhamStaithe and their van-with-camera-atop has been here six times since 2009, and shows, for example, that there's recently a new blue sign on the Museum of the Broads

StalhamSuttonStaitheMap.jpg.b26746c24924078ecde6c200b27faf2c.jpgSutton Staithe is not far away.

Fun to look that up: have done a school daytrip on the Broads from Norwich in 1959 but sadly left my box-brownie at home that day: that was my only Broads visit-with-floating.

Huddersfield Broad Canal Top Lock ...

... which is, of course a short lock (maybe a 60' boat can go all the way to Sowerby Bridge) with a 70' boat in it. Hence the pictures. This was a mile-and-a-bit reverse, and by good fortune the lock was already full, so we just opened the gates and backed in.

They have recently upgraded Stalham Staithe to improve the moorings. We have not had a chance to see the improvements yet but hope to get NC there again next summer.

Froghall Tunnel Caldon C

The Height-indication plastic stripsare at Flint Mill Lock and at the tunnel. In The Old Days it was so much better, and it was possible to wind a seventy-foot boat in front of the tunnel. Concrete banks and changing the water-levels, and the plastic is needed. _sigh_

Winding there in 1992 and 1993 with Sycamore and Oak respectively

I remember that place from 1976.

After mooring where you did we manouevred round to a water point just part the sheds in the background when the engine came to a sudden and definite stop and wouldn't countenance running in gear at all. Tied up and prodding with the boat hook revealed we had acquired a sail. Cost us a diver to get it off the prop. It had evidently gone missing from a yacht on the hard during a winter gale.

Bit optimistic with that chair on the bow. Doesn't look to be the weather for sitting out.

SWMBO used it on Tuesday (whilst I got some painting done around the rear deck, it just dried as the rain started Tuesday evening).

I thought that was where you posted your lookout during long passages.

The Lookout is up on top, spins around and around and sends 'pictures' back for viewing down below.

SWMBO uses it when people watching.

If only there were no weeds, it would be possible to read the sign as a reflection in the water. _sigh_
