  1. I see from an advert in Canal Boat that there is an online auction of CRT surplus, all sorts of stuff from the King Arthur in Gloucester to Lister engines. There's a nice looking little tug. The catalogue is at https://www.ahassetsolutions.com/content/online-sales/
  2. That's the Maxview one, see http://www.maxviewshop.co.uk/products/T-ACCESSORIES.html Its not IP sixty something waterproof but up under the roof overhang it works well for us. There's plenty of room to drill a 20mm hole through the backplate. ETA There's one further down the page that might do it, MXL018 Cable Entry Cover
  3. No, it was Roland Rat (& Kevin the Gerbil)
  4. That one used to be suitable for potable water tanks but isn't now. I used it for our integral water tank but its really no good for blacking the bottom, as above, too thin & lacking in body.
  5. Sorry to have missed you, we're in no rush so had a bit of a lie in this morning. Hope it all works out for you getting home. Steve
  6. Yes, we're above the lock, furthest from the lock.
  7. We were at Pilgrim lock last week, blowing gale it was. We're heading south now & moored at Welford lock, 2 up from you. Shame its dark, there's room here for you and very peaceful. You do know about the Wilmcote locks on the south Stratford being closed till 5th Sept? Give us a wave if you go by tomorrow.
  8. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00QHB2GW6/ref=pe_385721_126463721_TE_dp_1 This is the one we bought & of course I meant it is 240V running off a "Mickey Mouse" inverter, not 12v The only issue we had was the drain hose is a bit lightweight & split so I just replaced it. Otherwise the other half seems quite happy with it.
  9. Yes, ours is a 12v twin tub, running off a "Mickey Mouse inverter"
  10. We're in Bancroft Basin & had planned to head north in the morning, all change, PlanB
  11. Wasn't there a thread recently where someone bought one, got a refund & then sold it on for more than he paid?
  12. Can you still get Gun Gum & asbestos type bandage in Halfords. Long time since I got down under a car to use it but I seem to remember it worked well.
  13. https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/notice/13802/lock-47-lock-48-and-lock-49-wilmcote-lock I understand from a neighbour currently moored in Bancroft Basin that this is unlikely to be sorted before Monday/Tuesday next week. ETA I see from another notice that it looks as though they were aware of the problem & were planning to sort it on 5th September.
  14. Bekvam---- Love em, home, boat & shed.
  15. Ohhhhhhh Thanks Alan, I'm glad I now know that.
  16. Thanks for that Alan. Out of interest I looked at the G&S, our home water, and find: Upgrade to the bridge, including a new control panel, wig wags, road barriers and hydraulics. What the dickens is a wig wag?????????????
  17. as well as a dozen or so visitor moorings in Netherwich Basin.
  18. A 1/2" tap connector, bent or straight depending on pipe runs or even a flexi tap connector would fit on that I think. A flexi might restrict the flow though unless you get a full bore one.
  19. Has the OP given up on the VAT? Part of his post #22 quoted above says he has now bought a Coolingwood sailaway "off the shelf" They surely wouldn't have sold to him without charging VAT or is he expecting to reclaim it?
  20. We've called in at Droitwich Spa marina several times since the Droitwich reopened in 2011? when passing to empty cassettes & top up diesel. The marina has developed a lot over the years from the container they started in but they are still a very friendly & helpful bunch. 3 locks (with working side ponds!!!!!) up to the W&B & an ace carvery at The Eagle & Sun at Hanbury wharf. Some of the 7 or 8 locks down to the Severn from Droitwich town moorings are a bit heavy but 6 weeks ago the reeds were nowhere near as bad as when it first reopened & are no real problem.
  21. Not so, unusually they launched a sailaway in the last 12m & at least one other that I know of in the last decade.
  22. Fountains are still doing the cutting on the Gloucester Sharpness.
